Okay...should a couple of burgers, fries and drinks for lunch cost almost $50? I don't think so. I'll admit, my burger was tasty, but for $16, it should be. The two women who took our order weren't very good at their job. Maybe they're new, I don't know. On the board, right above their heads it showed two beer prices. A "Macro" for $4.25, or a "Micro" for $6.75. I asked for the "Macro", the cheaper of the two, and they drew me a beer. When my receipt printed up, I pointed out that I had ordered the "Macro" that was supposed to cost $4.25, but that they had charged me $6.75. When I pointed this out to the one who had rang us up, she said she didn't know what that was. Again, I pointed up at the board and said I ordered the "Macro". She replied, "No one told me about that. We only have one beer price." Say what? Shouldn't the person taking the orders, and ringing them up know about that detail? My Grandson ordered the 1/2 lb. burger, but the receipt showed he had recieved the 1/3 lb. burger instead. I heard his order correctly, but she didn't. Yes, I knew it was going to be expensive going in, but to not know how your own menu reads, overcharge me for a beer, and get our order wrong, all for $48 just doesn't work for me. When our order was ready, I saw them walk out with our food and set it down in front of two other folks who had just sat down. They said it wasn't theirs because they had only placed their order in the last minute. Then they brought it over to us. The women who took our order were very young, and really nice, but not knowing their own menu pricing, getting our order wrong, then initially delivering the food to the wrong table was just not good. If I order a $16 burger, and a $7 beer again, I want a view of the Pacific Ocean, or a waterfall next to me, or live...
Read moreThis is the last straw with this place. I'm done. After years of jacking up my orders, I'M OVER IT! These guys can't get anything right. I had four star rating for a long time here, but not anymore. Today I ordered a old fashion cheeseburger, and they couldn't pull it off. I was the only person in the the restaurant besides a couple sitting together. The kid delivering burgers to the tables, took my burger and rushed out the door with it AS he is calling my number. I yelled to him as he kept walking out the door with it and I watch him hand it to another customer outside. I watched through the window as that person looked at the wrong burger, showed it to their friends, talked over it and about it for a couple of minutes, then decided to head back inside and give it back after realizing it wasn't theirs. By this time I had already asked for a refund and was walking out the door. No apology from the burger delivery kid whatsoever, he just turned his back and ignored what was happening. The counter girl refunded my money apologized under her breath. I really can't wait for the Habit Burger to get here. I'm sick and tired of these local yocal places that charge an arm and a leg for mediocre service and average food. Slyvesters needs to understand if they're charging big bucks for their burgers (which they are), they better make them correctly and get them to the right customer. I left hungry and went to In-and-Out where I was served a perfectly cooked burger in 6 minutes for HALF the price and worth NO mistakes. Its really simple stuff guys. Get with...
Read moreI'm disappointed to have to write this review because Sylvester's is hands down my favorite place to go in town, and I've never had a bad experience. I will preface with the food tasted as amazing as it always does.
However, my issue was with the staff. I've frequented Sylvester's - both in Atascadero and Los Osos, and one of my favorite parts is how pleasant, welcoming, and kind the employees are. On this occasion, yesterday afternoon around 5pm, my fiance and I brought my parents as they were visiting from out of town, and the 2 girls working behind the counter were extremely rude compared to any experience I've had at Sylvester's. One of the girls - our cashier, seemed like she had no interest in helping or speaking of customers, she was very short, cut both my mom and myself off during our order to say something over us. After our food was brought out to us on the patio, we weren't asked if we needed any sauces which is no big deal, so I went inside to grab a couple Sylvester's Sauces and walked into our cashier and another girl talking very loudly about not liking us very casually while eating and making faces about it, without even noticing I had walked in, then the attitude towards me was as if my asking for some sauce was a huge inconvenience for them. Again, this is not a typical experience there and I'm disappointed to have to write a negative review of this restaurant, because I do normally have an amazing...
