Updated Review: I went again this morning and got a California Breakfast Burrito. This time it was much more flavorful, and it also was much larger. I am unable to comment on the veggie skillet since I did not order it the second time, but I can confidently change my review from 1 star to 5 because of this huge quality improvement!
Old Review: Take out was not good. I live about 2 minutes away, so I know the food did not get worse from travel.
California Breakfast Burrito: It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. The burrito itself was quite small, and was not filled much. Compared to a Chipotle burrito, it was about half the size, and pretty flat. The chorizo was not very flavorful, but the plantain did help. I mainly just tasted the plantain and tortilla.
Veggie Skillet: This one was not good, and it almost tasted watery. The potatoes were the only thing with flavor in this dish, everything else lacked seasoning and was very bland. It looked very good though, so I was quite disappointed in the flavor. I do not like to waste food, but I ultimately ended up throwing this away as it would not have been appealing as leftovers either.
Potato Hash Side: The potatoes had no crunch, but the flavor was good. They do not look appealing, at least with takeout.
I really want this place to be successful, but I can’t recommend it at this time. This is the only place I know that offers a breakfast burrito, so I hope quality can improve. I will give it another shot in a few weeks and change my review if the food...
Read moreDiscovered this very cool restaurant in a Google search. Glad I did! Very fresh latin food representing favorites from various latin cuisine. I had some ala carte choices: 1) famous Arepa (cheese, egg, avocado and ham w/avocada sauce). 2. Puposa (Revuelta/Salvadoran - stuffed masa cake w/red sauce. 3) And a spanish/latin favorite empanada (cafe special off-menu they made for me/stuffed w/sweet rice in a cinnamon flavored pastry). The waitress was outstanding, friendly, explained our food choices and nice conversation. She is a positive asset to this restaurant. I highly recommend this hidden gem in Homewood Shopping Center, Athens, GA. Good parking. I definitely plan on...
Read moreWe were worried as we approached Cantaritos in a half-deserted strip mall, but decided to take a chance as the number of cars showed it was popular ... I'm so glad that we did. Service was friendly and efficient, the menu had something for everyone, and the food was outstanding. Everything we had was well prepared and apparently made from scratch - the consomme with my birria was amazing. We came for brunch, but will be coming back for dinner soon. Highly recommended as one of the best south/central American restaurants in the...
