So me and my family were looking for breakfast and we decided on this place based on the reviews. First, I will say the food was good and the customer service was great. They were attentive and pleasant. The only issue we had that towards the end of our meal a large cockroach climbed onto the chair beside my daughter. It just really grossed me out! I knw this place has a lot of great reviews and they would honestly have one more with me but PLEASE!!! PLEASE!!! PLEASE!!! Get an exterminator there is no excuse for roaches in a restaurant!

Update: Im updating my review because as I said everything was GREAT except for the one issue. The owner contacted me personally and showed proof of the work he’s doing to make sure this never happens again. He said he had an exterminator out and the exterminator now comes out twice a month every month. I will surely give them another try when I am back...

It is a meat and two type place that're becoming hard to find nowadays. The service was efficient and friendly. The food was very good and could not have been better. And it was an excellent value for the money. I've been coming here infrequently for a long time and I intend to start coming more frequently.

I would like to address a previous review I saw where a black guy said he didn't feel welcome. I wasn't there so I can't address that instance but I can report what I saw during my visit: I came late in the afternoon so it wasn't crowded and I was one of 4 white customers eating in the dining room along with 5 black customers. Additionally, 2 more black customers came through picking up to-go orders. The employees, both black and white, were no more friendly or unfriendly to them as anybody else. It's unfair to paint a business with a brush like that based on one...

The food here had a wonderful taste and they are generous with their portions. They close at 2 o’clock and today I got there at 1:30. Almost all of my food was cold. Cold okra, cold fried chicken livers, and cold sweet potato soufflé… I took a few bites of everything and I ate all of the field peas which were warm. I packed up the rest of the food to go. Hopefully I can successfully heat up the okra and the fried chicken livers either in my oven or in my air fryer. I’m sure I can heat up the sweet potato soufflé in the microwave. I will go back one day and give them another try. Like I said, the taste of my food was good and the restaurant was very generous with their portions. In addition, the personnel who worked there seemed to really like each other and were very positive and pleasant. I will definitely get there a lot earlier next time in hopes that my food...
