I’m giving two stars because I really enjoy subway in general, and my food was delicious. The problem is the staff. There was only one employee working, on a Saturday at noon, at a location that stays busy most of the time. That’s unacceptable. I’m a patient person, so I don’t mind waiting. I was there for a total of 45 minutes, which is ridiculous. She obviously needed help. She was on her cell phone a lot asking people to come in and help. An employee of the neighboring service station came by and said she had asked one of the Dairy Queen employees (also located in the service station) to come and help. The subway employee said “I don’t want their help, their nothing but drama”. Of course as a customer who’s been waiting for half an hour, I don’t really care if they bring drama, I just want my sandwich. She did allow him to help, thankfully, and he was great. He was fast, polite and professional. I think whoever does the scheduling should do a better job so that they have more people working during the lunch rush. I've been to this location 3 or 4 times in the last month and always seem to be greated by lazy rude employees that never seem to be happy to see you. Compared to other Athens subway locations, I believe this one has to be the worst. My wife just last week got into a verbal altercation with the lady making the subs. She was really rude and made me wife want to just leave the food there. Believing that everyone deserves a second chance she took the food and went on her way. I go today looking to get a great steak and cheese as I always do anywhere else in Athens. I asked her to bake my bread before she started, she didn't and when I asked if she could please toast my bread she gave me an attitude and even tried to serve another customer behind me while my sub got cold. Read moreI went here on Superbowl Sunday, and there was only one guy working there. Even though he had a long line of people to get food, he wasn't panicking or in a bad mood. He took his time and made sure the customer got what they were ordering. I believe his name was wesley, but not sure. But he is the reason why I gave this place a five star rating, I believe in good customer service and that's what he did. Now for the Subway itself: You really should've had more people working on that day, everyone including myself was saying they should've had more people working. If you don't have enough staff to work on certain days of the year then hire more people.
