Sad review today. And it breaks my heart to leave this review as we have loved this place for years.
My family came in to this restaurant today as we have been here more times than we can count. Today, my 13 yr old daughter started to order her taco salad. And when I went to order they told me they had no cheese sauce so I turned around and told my wife and we decided not to eat here today since they didn’t have what we liked for our nachos we eat here. They proceeded to tell me that because they started to make my daughter’s taco salad that I need to pay for hers at least. I let them know that I wouldn’t be eating here because my other 2 kids, my wife and my self couldn’t get what we wanted and then the manager got very upset that they started making a taco salad that I didn’t want to pay for because they didn’t have cheese sauce. This manager (who is pictured) then told me I was never allowed back. I asked what why? She stated because you made us make food you’re not paying for. I told her I have to feed all my family and I just have to go somewhere else and I can’t take my daughter’s food into other places as they frown upon that. She said I don’t care, you need to pay for this. I told her respectfully I am going to leave but may I have a managers name? Her response was that she was the manager and that it was none of my business. I then told her if she’s a manager than she should give me her first name so when I call the owner I can reference who I was working with. Then she said I don’t have to give you my name. And then she proceeds to tell me I will call the police because your being racist. I responded racist? I haven’t ever been racist not in this ordeal or ever in my life. And I told her there is a sheriff sitting right here in the restaurant and that she doesn’t need to call anyone. So the shariff walks over to me and asked what’s happening. I calmly explain to him what happened and then the manager tried to yell and interrupt my story calling me a liar. So much so, the sheriff had to pull me aside to talk more and his advise was to just leave. I told him all I wanted was a managers name I’d be happy to I wasn’t trying to cause trouble and when he asked they told him no too. So I ended up just leaving of course as I really do not want to have trouble.
What a terrible experience in a place where we normally frequent at least 2x a month or more with my entire family and even extended family. It’s totally fine to be out of product every once in a while as I have run several restaurants during my life, I get it. But when I can’t feed the other 4 ppl in my family because of it. You shouldn’t loose your cool and start making up stories about me being racist like this manager did. It’s a sad day for this business and for all humanity, that this is what this world is coming to.
We will never set foot in this establishment again, and honestly I wouldn’t suggest anyone. They have great food, but now that my kids are asking why some lady called me a racist and I have to explain to them how the world is going crazy. That alone isn’t worth any food and I don’t care how good it is.
The picture is the manager who refused to give her name and the other employees that were there just kept looking down and wouldn’t even look at us or answer me when I asked them for a...
Read moreHi everyone! It's been a while, but we just don't get out much. As some of you may know, I don't look at the same things as everyone else in these places. That's why I'll say nothing about the food or service; plenty of others do that. So let's get to it, shall we?
The place was clean enough, although rather noisy. The music was too loud. There was a line when we arrived, but it moved quickly. The first thing I noticed was that the chairs were somewhat heavy. It's not really an issue, I just wanted to let you know. The picture of the long narrow hall is where the restrooms are. The men's room (sorry ladies, couldn't check yours) was clean enough. As you can see, there is what appears to be a patio being built. Also, it could be an additional room for the dining area. My other photo is of the drink dispenser. It's right by an exit door, which I found to be a strange place to put it. It's hard to tell, but there's not much room for more than one person at a time.
It's an ok place to go to. I really don't think it's much to get excited about. But, then again, growing up in the Southwest spoiled me when it comes to Mexican cuisine.
Well, that's it, folks. I hope you enjoy your visit. Bye...
Read moreMy most recent foray into the uncharted lands of culinary novelty led me to Pepos Burrito Bar—a veritable revelation in the realm of dining experiences! Imagine, if you will, an entire bar devoted solely to the noble burrito! Such a marvel I had never encountered, and I approached it with the eagerness of a conquistador in search of treasure.
Upon indulging in a sumptuous burrito and a velvety cheese dip accompanied by a generous array of fried nacho chips, I felt an awakening within me—a transformation most profound. Each bite of that splendid burrito, brimming with seasoned meats, fresh herbs, and rich spices, summoned visions of old Mexico. I became, for those fleeting moments, a man of the land, infused with the spirit of the rugged sierras and sun-drenched pueblos. It was as though I could feel the warmth of the hearth and hear the lively strum of a guitarrón from distant, ageless fiestas.
Pepos Burrito Bar has not merely created a dining establishment; they have crafted a portal to a Mexico of the soul. Five stars for an experience that is as deeply satisfying as it is transformative—my spirit is enriched, my taste for adventure rekindled, and my appetite most...
