Me and my family have been going to Village Pizza for at least 9 years & tonight I had the worst service all around that i have ever experienced. It was so bad that me & my family, party of 8, walked out before getting seated. I'm very very disappointed. To start, we called in our table ahead of time just to give them a heads up. When we arrived they were not ready, no big deal at all. The 16 year old hostess told us it would be 15 minutes. There was a large square table open and she said "once another table comes open I will push them together for y'all". So the 5 of us who had arrived sat at the bar next to the hostess stand while we waited. We sat down at the Bar & the barely 21 year old bar tender was texting on his phone facing away from us & it literally took him 5 minutes to finish texting on his phone to turn around & acknowledge all of us sitting at the bar. When he turned around the first thing he said was "y'all don't want nothing to drink right?".....Are you kidding me???? Yes we wanted drinks! We got 3 drinks & it was obvious they were having a lot of trouble with their taps. The Michelob light keg floated as he was pouring, so I asked for a bottle instead. He said sorry we don't have any bottle beer. I was kind of surprised to hear the bar didn't carry Michelob in a bottle. I ordered a Bud Light instead. We sat for 10 minutes or so waiting for a table just watching football. A few minutes went by and we noticed the table right beside the open square table was getting up to leave. We thought this was perfect for our party being 2 tables right beside each other being available. They cleaned the table from the previous party and we started to get ready just in time to watch the hostess place a party of two at one of the open tables , who walked in several minutes after us, at the empty tables!! There was another 4-5 seater round table nearby which was open, but that was the only other table available. I talked to the hostess to ask what was going on and advised she had said she was going to push some tables together but instead sat a party of two there instead. She didn't say anything she just stumbled over her words and didn't know what to say. I asked if she could " please move them to the other open table so we could sit down? You said we were going to be sat at those tables." The hostess looked dumbfounded and just said "I'm sorry is too bad but I'll see what I can do."...WHAT!!!! I was pretty taken a back to hear her say that. She disappeared into the back then reappeared shortly after & started folding Pizza boxes. It was pretty obvious she was avoiding us & was too afraid to admit to someone about her mistake. I then went to find someone else for assistance, the manager who was working was in her early twenties & very unhelpful. The story of what the hostess told us & what actually had taken place was different. I was going round and round with the manager of what had actually taken place & she just said "you're being very rude & you don't need to be acting like this in front of everybody." I told her you should have given us the common courtesy to acknowledge me & the situation which just took place. At this time another very young employee from the back came to the front and started getting rude with us as well. I told her you know what we're just going to leave. The manager looked at us and said, and I quote, "good! leave!" After she said that another adolescent worker in the back started clapping her hands to cheer that we were leaving.
The service at Village has slowly declined over the last few years, however it is definitely at is worst as of today. Not one single person working tonight was over 25 years old and it showed with everything they did. There was no sense of management from top to bottom and this is pretty sad to see. Unfortunately, our long tenure of eating here is over. we will not come back and we will vigorously spread the word of the horrendous management and staff that currently runs...
Read moreWorkers at Village gave police a false accusation that I abused my child inside their restaurant.
I was here earlier this evening (12/22) with my two oldest daughters (12 and 17) having a pizza. My 12-year old was having a temper tantrum over her little sister logging into her Roblox account and spending all of her Robux.. It made her so upset that she demanded that I stop eating and reimburse her immediately. After I told her no, and that I would reimburse her after we ate, she hit the table with her fist and caused a scene in the restaurant. This prompted me to sternly tell her to calm her ass down or I'd take her phone. She got up and went to the restroom upset. She came out and refused to eat. I paid my bill and we left.
Little did I know that a worker(s) at Village followed us to my car to write down my license plate number, then notified the police that I hit the table and slapped my child in the face.
This false allegation lead to Athens police at my door a couple hours later after we returned home from shopping. Instead of doing real police work and pulling camera footage from inside the restaurant, the police proceeded to harass me at my home under the false accusation that I struck my child in the face.
Either the police lied about witness saying I slapped my child or the witness lied about seeing me slap my child. Luckily, I have the entire interaction with the police on my doorbell camera, where the officer started off telling me that "he (a worker)witnessed me slapping my child", then later contradicts himself by saying "he (the witness) was NOT 100% certain he saw me slap my child". But both things can't be true. Either he reported I hit her or not. Seems I caught someone in a lie.
Either way, a false report was given and police resources were wasted, which put me outside my home in the cold dispelling the false allegation. Both my daughters collaborated that I never slapped her. And the police left in shame.
This should never happen to any parent at any business. If you don't know for certain of abuse, don't report it to the police. My daughter was recently in a car accident which left lacerations above her eye, which aren't fully healed. But you assumed that I hit her in the face! You mislead the police, which then harassed me at my home! Even wanted me reported to DHR with your false accusations. You should be fired!
The Village manager and/or employees responsible for this owes me and my family an apology. And until I get one, I will be sharing this story to every friend and coworker I know. I will also be looking into what can be done legally. I know it's against the law to make a false...
Read moreI tried to call to inquire about an order before placing it. phone rang and rang and then was told "voicemail was full and could not accept new mesaages." I fb message and almost instantly get a reply. I told then what was going on. received apologies for the issue, thanks for letting them know they'd fix it and they answered my question. No big deal. I then place order online from their website. order placed at 703 pm. not given delivery time until after you pay and get your email. the delivery was EST at 8:23.. almost an HOUR AND 20 MINUTES. sure it's a Saturday night but seriously? then, 835 rolls around. no pizza no updates. so, I call. it rings for over THREE MINUTES. I hang up, growing more frustrated and call back. I once again select option 3 for customer service, "it's not available " hang up and call back furious. am told that they left a few minutes before my calling which was now 10 min ago,(I live maybe 8 kin from there still no pizza. I imagine they had forgotten the order entirely until I called but they got their $$ out of bank account already. freaking ridiculous. if its going to be an hour and a HALF tell me AHEAD of time so I can make other choices. will NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN . piss poor ethic and even worse customer service. and here I am still without my order.. shame on you village pizza. and ppl wonder why "small businesses " struggle in the area.
Update: this was originally posted to fb. They read the message and simply replied, "Thanks for giving us a try! Have a great day!" Further proves my point. They have no regard for customer satisfaction, nor the bad image an unsatisfied customer can bring. They made zero attempts to right the wrong or...
