Whitt's Barbecue — Restaurant in Athens

Whitt's has always been one of my favorite places to get pulled pork BBQ. Started eating Whitt's over 30 years ago. This visit, October 16, 2023, I got the #3 family pack. I added a pint of potato salad and a pint of baked beans. $51!! I know everything is expensive nowadays but I thought that a little high. The pulled pork was delicious as always. I absolutely love the vinegar slaw. The baked beans we very good. The potato salad, 🤢!! That was the most awful tasting potato salad I have ever had. It didn't even look like potato salad. When I opened it it had what looked like oil on the top, little puddles. It looked like someone had combined potato salad and coleslaw. It was not a mustard based potato salad. There weren't any chunks of potato. It was kind of just mushed potatoes. I took two bites and threw it in the garbage. I gave the food four stars for everything else. I'd give the potato salad...

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone that's got a cane or crutcher's beckfield your cups up with ice and just put a little Coke in it and you don't have enough Coke to drink with your meal and then two sandwiches and two chips and two two drinks was $12 and then you go to the window and get a little more coke to wash your food down with and they charge you for a refill and I talk to the manager there are the owner and she said where we charge for refills and I gave her the money for the refill and I told her to enjoy it because it's...

I hate to do this but I can't help it. I have been eating at this location since I was a child and never have I ever had pork taste so dry. I promise this has to be turkey but they have argued me up and down that it is pork. Maybe because the last few times I have ate Lawler's but it was horrible.
