This place is such a dump. It looks like prison inside. The counter where you order is completely closed in with some kinda barricade. I didn't check to see what it was made of. You had to talk into a microphone and slide your money into a little space for the cashier to get it. Guess the employees don't want to be shot. LOL. I've recently moved to the neighborhood and only chose this location because it was closer to me. I strongly regret my decision. I went in two weeks ago on a Friday. I ordered four chicken tenders for $6. They took over an hour to be ready. Even though, they was literally only one person before me, the customer who later threatened me. While I waited, I was threatened by a crackhead who thought I had stolen her phone. She literally told me I would not leave until she got her phone back. I wanted to ask for a refund but she had me so frightened, I panicked. I could not get my thoughts and self together with my anxiety to ask for a refund. I didn't want to be difficult and rude because I had already paid and they were in the process of cooking the food. I tried to ignore the customer, repeatedly telling her I did not take her phone. She left and came back with her crew, a man and a female friend, both of which looked like convicts. I thought I was actually going to be shot over a cheap phone when I have a brand new iPhone 8. The cops had to be called. The employees, a black woman, an Asian man and two Hispanics, did absolutely nothing to help me. They just stood there behind the barricade and watched the fiasco play out. I was afraid for my life. When I finally got my food, I ran out and took it home. I was unpleasantly surprised to find out that they were not eatable. It's low quality, fake chicken that was overcooked and hard as rocks. It was not only dry, but also bland and tasteless. I tried to eat two bites of two tenders and ended up trashing the four pieces. They were tiny too, not even medium sized tenders. No seasoning used whatsoever. The barbecue dipping sauce tastes like homemade sauce. I called American Deli headquarters, explained to them the situation, emailed them the receipt, and they refused me a refund, saying I should go back in here. After the experience I had, I will never even stop in the area again, to do business with any company. Will never go to this or any other American Deli again. Overpriced food anyway but in the past, at the other American Deli's I will say that I have gotten good food and pleasant experiences with customers and staff. Guess, this is something that would only happen in...
Read moreI find myself frequently choosing this fast food restaurant for my lunch, even though I don't typically dine at other fast-food establishments. Today, I opted for one of my favorite items, the Whiting fish sandwich, along with a 5-piece wing combo. The price was very reasonable, perhaps the lowest in town. What I appreciate about this place is the variety of fish-related menu options they offer, including fish salad, fish sandwich, and full fish meals. They have both Whiting and Tilapia on their menu, but I always go for Whiting due to its nutritional benefits.
The meal was delightful. The fish was fresh and perfectly seasoned, making each bite a flavorful experience. The wings, dipped in teriyaki sauce, were also excellent. Despite being a small neighborhood franchise, the restaurant maintains a high level of cleanliness. The owner and employees take great care in ensuring the place is tidy and inviting. I particularly enjoy the ambiance with nice music playing in the background and news displayed on a giant screen TV with subtitles, so it doesn't disrupt the pleasant atmosphere.
Overall, I highly recommend this fast-food spot for anyone craving delicious fish dishes with friendly service and a clean dining environment. It's a hidden gem in the neighborhood that consistently delivers on taste...
Read moreIf I could give this restaurant negative 5 stars I would. Went in and placed an order for garlic Parmesan wings and garden salad. They put the wings in the same styrofoam container with the cold salad. I politely asked for them to put the hot food and cold food in separate containers. Common sense, right? Apparently not. I was treated rudely and with complete disrespect. Then I realized that they gave me honey garlic wings, completely not what I ordered. The manager then commenced to tell me that she would make the correct wings but she was leaving the food in the same container and was going to put the new wings on top of honey garlic sauce, in the container with the garden salad that had now been sitting out for 10 minutes. I told her to keep the whole order, because now the other plate I ordered was now cold. She refused and called the police. When it was all said and done, the police coerced her to refund my money. On top of serving sub par food, The owners/managers of this establishment are rude and do not respect the people of this community. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS RESTAURANT! There is another American Deli about a mile up the street on MLK. You...
