Amos Mosquito’s Restaurant – A Must-Visit Gem on the Coast

If you’re looking for a restaurant that delivers on flavor, service, and unforgettable coastal charm, Amos Mosquito’s is it. We enjoyed it so much we went twice during our vacation—and if we had more days, we would’ve gone back a third time. It’s that good.

Let’s start with the seafood: fresh, perfectly prepared, and absolutely second to none. Whether it was the seared tuna, the crab cakes, or the shrimp and grits, each dish came out hot, flavorful, and beautifully plated. You can taste the quality and care in every bite—this isn’t your average tourist trap seafood. It’s the real deal, with a creative flair that makes it memorable.

The service? Flawless. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel like regulars. Friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable, they kept the pace of the meal just right—never rushed, never waiting too long. It’s rare to find a place where both the front and back of house are firing on all cylinders, but Amos Mosquito’s nails it.

The vibe is coastal and casual but with enough polish to make it feel special. It’s a place where you can dress up or down, bring your family or enjoy a romantic night out. There’s laughter in the air, the cocktails are strong, and the sunset views are the cherry on top.

In short, Amos Mosquito’s is an absolute must when you’re in town. It checks all the boxes and then some—this is the kind of place that turns a good vacation into a great one....

Outstanding atmosphere and food! We were visiting on vacation and heard from the locals "Get there before they open and get in line." We arrived at 4:30pm, joined the end of the line near the parking lot entrance and were talking to the host by 5:00. We made it into the first rotation of guests and were seated after a 25 minute wait, exactly the amount of time the host had told us. Customer service is top notch right from the get go - friendly, courteous, charming!

Our server, Scarlett, was phenomenal. She was great with our kids, thoughtful, and kind, and gave us a first class experience.

The food was to die for. We started with the fried pickles and they were gone before I had a chance to snap a pic. The remoulade sauce was the perfect compliment to the salty, tangy pickles. When our 9yo tried her clam chowder and said "This was SO worth the wait," we couldn't agree more. Everything we ordered was perfection - drinks from the bar, bread service, and our meals. My husband and I both agreed that we have never had seafood cooked so tenderly before. He had the mixed seafood grill and I had the scalloped scallops. The scallops melted in our mouths; I didn't know it was even possible! Even the kids' cheese pizza was awesome; the marinara was like no other. Oh, and the kids' daiquiri was so smooth and creamy - we loved them.

Fantastic place for a couple, small group, family, or large group! We will definitely be back when we come again. Don't forget to get...

Some excellent dishes with a fun atmosphere but portion sizes, price point, and dish quality did not quite add up. I was happy to have an allergen menu. It took forever to get our drinks and we had to ask our server for them when she asked us for our order. The steamed pork dumplings were good but more of a small spicy dense meatball in a loose wrapper, I prefer my dumplings to be tighter with a softer and lighter filling texture. There was also only five of them which wouldn’t have been bad if they were bigger. I got shrimp ceviche and crab cake appetizers as my entree. Both were excellent, even amazing, but I wanted something else on the ceviche plate like a small salsa or something. It was maybe 3/4 cup of ceviche and the sweet potatoes took up a large portion. The crab cakes with aioli were the best thing we ate but they were tiny. My wife got shrimp and chicken Alfredo with pesto which she was very disappointed with. She said it tasted like soupy jarred Alfredo sauce with tough asparagus stumps and a splash of pesto. It only had eight shrimp and a tiny chicken portion and tons of sliced raw grape tomatoes just tossed in. We may go back to try other plates but were pretty underwhelmed overall with our meal. All the staff were...

I chose this restaurant because we were in the area and the reviews looked really good. They were right. We arrived soon after opening on a Saturday evening. There were people waiting but we didn't have a preference where we sat and used the time to study the menu, about 15 minutes. There was a very interesting list of seafood as well as chicken and beef options. Service was excellent. They had a lot of staff working. We ordered drinks and our meal at the same time. The clam chowder was creamy with plenty of tender clams. My partner also had the Scalloped scallops which had many more large and small scallops than he expected. There was more cheese sauce than he could eat. It was served with mashed potatoes and tender asparagus. I had the seafood combo with fried oysters and fried flounder with fries and slaw. They were both cooked perfectly with a very light batter so the taste of the fish and oysters really came though. The difference between fresh and frozen seafood was so apparent. Prices were reasonable for the quality and portion size, as well as the excellent service. I'd like to go on a warmer day and sit looking over the sound.
