On a beach trip from Raleigh, my friends and I will never miss a trip to SUB TROPICS. And there are many! It is conveniently located at the beach on the main road, Ford Macon Road en route to the Circle and other Atlantic Beach public shorelines. Beachgoers can shop local and stop in for something refreshing and will love colorful Sub Tropics ā€“ a sandwich, wrap and smoothie spot thatā€™s located in the heart of Atlantic Beach, just off the Atlantic Beach Causeway. I love what one review on google said, "cheerful customization from the chief, Charles." I also added a pic of some dolphins we saw. Be kind to the animals tho and be sure pick up all of your trash while at the beach. Stop in to SUB TROPICS for a treat on your vacay.

Surprised this place is still in business. Went in today to get sandwiches for my family. Good luck ordering anything with fish because, although itā€™s on the menu, they do not have fish. Ended up getting two cubanos, (both came out cold and were prepared without gloves), and a meatball sub. Got a smoothie too, advertised as a ā€œfruit smoothieā€ and watched them blend ice and boxed smoothie mix. Smoothies are super concentrated and not fresh at all. Got home to eat the meatball sub, and found this in the middle of the sandwich. Went back to let the owner know, and he took the piece of plastic, threw it away and said ā€œiā€™m sorry.ā€ Didnā€™t offer any reparations, refunds, or anything. Highly disappointed. Place is dirty too.

I ordered a Cuban and it was cold, the man who mad it surly, and the cashier literally said, "you can get it yourself" when we ordered drinks instead of using any type of politeness. The drinks were hot. You'll sit outside constantly waving flies away from your sandwich.

I could not comment on the food here, because I couldn't order any!! šŸ˜’ Have heard so many good things about Sub Tropic. I tried to call in an order at 10:30 on Saturday morning, they never answered? Called 45 times.. Went by to order and it was very busy, but don't advertise phone orders if you are not going to honor them!!!!! Have a phone message maybe, "due to current crowd, we cannot take phone orders. When I asked about why they didn't take the phone orders they said, 'it would have been too confusing". So, when you are really busy, have a phone message stating you will not be taking phone orders at the moment. The workers were very nice when I asked about them not answering the...
