Don Bigotes Attalla Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Attalla

Atmosphere was fabulous/first class for a Mexican restaurant, food was ok, service at table was good. However we had a small problem at time of leaving. The price on menu at table was one price(25.99), and then we were charged a higher price at the register when we paid(29.99). (We screen shot the lower price as it was the same on the online menu) When I informed the cashier/waitress of the discrepancy, without asking to see or verify anything, she pulled out a to-go, paper menu at the register with higher price and insisted, "THIS is the price". So, two sets of menus with different prices? We were never going to argue or make a scene over 4.00, and simply agreed to pay the difference. My guess is that prices were increased recently, but not done so on the more permanent, plastic coated table menus. The money was not the issue to us--it was the refusal to acknowledge an easily verifiable mistake and to even offer any apology or accommodation whatsoever. Verify the menu prices before you order. I have lived in Mexico, I have eaten at most Mexican restaurants in the Greater Gadsden area. Tried Don Bigotes in Attalla AL today for lunch. We were absolutely blown away! Anna greated and seated and waited on us. Less than 10 minute wait for our perfectly prepared, beautifully presented food. Upon taking the first bite of my shrimp based dish, I knew I had found my new regular Mexican place. Fighting back tears of joy, my mouth could not stop chewing and raving of how delicious everything was. Clean silverware, clean tables, booth seats. The floor was spotless. The bathroom was extra clean and smelled like a flower garden. Such a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Anna took VERY good care of us as we devoured our lunch. She was quick with our refills and so sweet and kind. We tipped 25% and were listing the people we knew who love Mexican food, to tell about this culinary gem. MY HIGHEST RECOMENDATION. 10 OUT OF 10.

Update:: 10/6/24. Went back again for the elevendy 9th time. It just keeps getting...

I've eaten here before. The first time, my food was fine. My daughter had the lunch buffet. It was okay, but just barely warm.

This time, the food was different. I had a tostaguac. I had to ask for my sides. The food was good, but not exceptional. My daughter had a taco salad and enjoyed it. The salsa wasn't as good as the first time we were here. It tasted like it had a dried chili in it, maybe cayenne. Not as fresh tasting as the first time we're were there.

When I got the bill, there were no prices on it, just the total. I thought we were overcharged. And after I paid and left, I looked up the prices of what we had. We were overcharged by at least $5! I don't know whether we'll be...
