Maria's Taco Shop — Restaurant in Atwater

I almost gave this place two stars but then I realized I was just trying to be nice. We tried to go to Isabella's and realized that they had closed down for the night, probably because of covid. We drove around looking for another place to eat and saw Marias for the first time. We decided to try their food. There was a mask required sign on the door but none of the employees including the chef or wearing masks. That's not something that bothers me but just an observation. The lady who took my order had zero customer service skills although she got the order right, so that's good. The enchiladas that I ordered for my family were not cooked all the way. The cheese was not melted on the cheese enchiladas inside or on the outside. I ordered the shrimp fajitas which had absolutely zero seasoning. I almost wondered if they were just boiled in water because that's how bland they were. The rice also seemed to have no seasoning at all. My teenager complained that there was no flavor on his plate as well. Needless to say, after spending $50 there my dog had a great meal tonight but we will...

Sent my wife in to get 60 dollars worth of food. They had a new girl working so they say and she 1st tried to argue about what color mountain dew was. She was trying to give me some white color soda and said it was mountain dew. Then they made us the wrong food and I go back to get just 1 burrito and 1 side order of bean and cheese replace and I get the most rudest interaction that I ever had with any fastfood place that messed up your meal. Then they felt like they didn't want to replace the beans and cheese the right way I guess so they gave me a bowl full of bean sauce with nothing else in it. I call them back and they hang up in me twice and tell me I don't even eat there before some other lady apologizes ask some questions and then apologizes. Used to love that lil spot... After this encounter. Check your food before you leave if you don't want to waste time and gas. 1/100 interaction... 60 $...

I didn’t even make it to the shop and I was already given bad customer service. I called in for an order and the lady who answered was super rude! Her background was super loud and she was echoing so there were a lot of “what’s?” Then I repeated that I wanted a supreme burrito the lady said “yea that’s what I said I don’t understand why you can’t hear me” in a extremely rude tone! So then I proceed to tell her she can cancel my order because I no longer want to order anything from her.

I’ve had friends whom have had bad service there but I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt and try them. NEVER AGAIN! Not with their bad customer service!
