They say they are the best breakfest in town, I'm sorry but their not. We walked in for the first time and trying to find it within the building is confusing. No directions as to where it was located inside when we arrived at the parking lot. When we went to order the ladies did not help us with ordering. We were confused and not sure were to look for the food menu. We had asked questions to the counter ladies and they were either spacing off and or their attitude did not want to help us with food choices. I always ask what the restuarant recommends with a new place when my husband and I try something out. They didnt want to help. You have to go up to the front of the house and order there and than pick your selection of drinks and bakery items ect. You go down to the end of the line and pay. Now the food, with the claims of the best breakfest in town I was expecting them to trump Sunbreak cafe. They were no where near close. The food was mediocre at best. Very small portions. To the point it left us still hungry. We ordered french toast and we got 4 small pieces. The french toast at IHOP is bigger than what we got for comparison. I got the sausage links and they were sausage links, nothing to write home about. You get 2 of either bacon or sausage links. For how big the plate was I was expecting more food. We also order a side of hash browns, they were hashbrowns. Something I could have made at home. In fact all the food given to us could have been made at home. If I'm going spend $26 for 2 plates and a side of hashbrowns I am expecting something I cant make at home for breakfast. That goes for any restaurant we visit. The atmosphere of the place was underwhelming. Think really old green plastic chairs and grandma's checkered table clothe over the table. Most of the tables were not clean but the only age bracket there was 55+. Nothing wrong with being and older gal or man as my parents are that age. But, I do prefer a wonderful environment to eat at. This did not provide anything remarkable for the seating environment and atmosphere. I do not recommend this place, please spend your hard earned...
Read moreSo this is at the Emerald Downs. I put four stars for atmosphere only because the restaurant itself does not have any kind of atmosphere to speak of however you can see the nice horses go by as you're eating which is great LOL if you like that kind of thing. THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT!!! I had an omelet with toast and something else I don't remember but it was above and beyond!!! My friend just had pancakes but they were excellent also. My mouth is literally watering right now! You basically Serve Yourself but I still put five stars for service because they were so nice, ( the owner and the daughters ). I can't wait to go back and try other things on their menu like burgers or something cuz whatever they make must be spectacular even if it's regular old food like a burger. Slightly spendy but well worth it, go there!! It's not open all year round it's seasonal for when the horse racing is open so be sure to get there before it closes for the season. I don't know when that is lol. Have...
Read moreI used to come here with my mom, and we loved it. It's still a good place, though. The staff and other patrons are very nice. It is a good place to hang out with friends and family. I love seeing the horses pass by the windows. I even saw a tiny, albeit, crazy horse whipping around like a tornado. He was very cute and I'm very glad my kneecaps were nowhere near him.
There are only 2 bad things: We got there when they opened, so we were the first to sit at the table. They really needed to wipe down the tables. *There was dried syrup in a few places along the tablecloth. Rows of tables run about 20 feet. *I promise you that I do not have a refined pallet, and I'm not a food snob. The food was okay. I did ask for the hashbrowns to be crispy, and they were burnt across the bottom. Also, I love breakfast sausage, but I ended up giving 2 of the 3 links away to a friend. When he tried it, he said, "It's very cheap sausage!" I agree. It's not good!
We plan to go back and give it...
