If you need cabinets, Authentic Woodcraft is the place to get them.
I needed cabinets for a kitchen and laundry remodel. I looked at about 20 different cabinet makers/suppliers. This gave me an education in the range of different cabinets available, which I would rank in quality as low, medium and high end, and prices usually matched this. I looked at everything from big box stores to custom cabinets and small prefabricated cabinet shops. I needed a lot of cabinets and wanted high-quality and custom cabinets, but also needed to stay within a budget. I also needed to work with a contractor, so I was looking for a cabinet maker that did not insist on installing cabinets.
Authentic Woodcraft hands down provided the best offering of everything I needed/ wanted and with added bonus. Going with them was the best choice in my entire remodeling project. This is why: Quality: The entire kitchen is supported on your cabinets, if they break, you have to redo the entire kitchen. Of all the cabinets that I looked at these rank in the top as some of the strongest. Authentic Woodcraft makes their own cabinets, but orders their doors from another cabinet maker. I was a little nervous about this at first, as the door style I wanted was not in the shop and I had to order from a picture online. I did not need to be nervous, the doors are solid wood and high-quality very high quality, they work with high end companies, and quality of the product is important to them. This also had the added bonus of the largest number of door styles that I saw from a custom cabinet maker. My contractors were also very impressed with the quality of the cabinets (and they see a lot of cabinets). Price: Authentic Woodcraft offers the best quality for price of any of the cabinet makers/suppliers I visited. They were surprisingly inexpensive for the quality - in part due to their business model of outsourcing doors, etc. They are also incredibly ethical in pricing, with no price gauging. Service: I originally got the impression that all custom cabinet makers provided similar service. After working with Mark and Riley, I think they provide the best service anyone can get. They measured multiple times, double and triple checked all fits with appliances and space and were able to modify the kitchen design rapidly and efficiently, while maintaining the esthetics. In the end they still had to make some modifications on our cabinets at installation in order to fit awkward sloping ceilings, and other features of an older home; they did this rapidly and effectively. They were happy to work with me and our contractors to meet our needs. The worst thing that happens in these remodels is that your cabinets are delivered perfect and then the contractors accidentally put a small chip in the paint - no problem Authentic Woodcraft will touch up your paint at the end of installation. Engagement: I can't say enough about how friendly, engaging and genuine Mark and Riley are. They are a delight to work with, and are happy to explain anything or work with people who know a lot about cabinets. -Additional: Mark and Riley are very well connected with kitchen suppliers and also gave me some recommendations for countertop fabricators and hardware supply. I used both. The countertops are a seamless gorgeous fit, and I found the exact hardware that I wanted. Overall: I have the most beautiful kitchen (and laundry) cabinets that I have ever seen. Everyone compliments them. It was a joy to work with Mark, Riley and all of the other folks at Authentic Woodcraft. The quality is unbelievable. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation. I am already planning to use them again for a few freestanding cabinets and my garage .
Bottom Line: I have a million positive and zero negative things to say about working with Authentic Woodcraft. If you are thinking about cabinets, it would be a mistake not...
Read moreI was very disappointed with the service I received from Authentic Woodcraft, especially after reading so many good reviews of them here. After over a year and a half and thousands of dollars, they failed to complete just two cabinets for my kitchen.
I was looking to have some cabinets made to add onto a 50-year-old kitchen. After reaching out to them in February of 2022, they came and measured my kitchen and reviewed some drawings of what I had in mind. I told them they could take their time and work on my small job between bigger jobs. All I asked was that they communicate their progress so I could plan other renovations.
After some back-and-forth with the design, stain matching, and picking up an appliance to ensure a perfect fit, they stopped communicating. I reached out and found they had all been sick, and they assured me a different person was finishing the cabinets. Unfortunately they failed to communicate the specifications to this new person, and in August of 2022 they delivered two cabinets that were the wrong dimensions and had missing features. When I brought this to their attention, they apologized and offered to make an extra piece to fill in the gap. They then made excuses for another year until finally I gave up and asked to come get whatever they had so I could finish the job myself. They conveniently were on vacation the day I came by, and the person on site gave me just a drawer front and a piece of veneer that doesn't go to anything.
After spending thousands of dollars and being immensely patient until August 2023, I am now left to finish what they started. I'll need to drill ventilation holes and electrical grommets that were omitted, install the drawer front that's been missing for a year, build the missing shelf across two pieces, and figure out some piece to fill the 14" gap in the run. I have had to set aside other renovations due to waiting on these pieces, and now I'm even farther behind with more work to do.
This was my first experience ordering custom cabinets, so I relied on their team to guide me through the process. While I admit this contributed to delays and miscommunication, it was ultimately their responsibility to identify and resolve any issues, or at least make me aware of their limitations. Instead of communicating with me, they took advantage of my flexibility and lied about their progress.
The cabinets they delivered are a perfect match for my kitchen and excellent quality, which leaves me even more disappointed that I can't trust them to make more for other areas of my home, and I certainly can't recommend...
Read moreUnfortunately I cannot recommend Authentic Woodcraft or Washington Custom painting and Remodeling who was also involved in our kitchen reface. We had several issues from nicks on the doors and drawer fronts, communication and finalization of project. We are still waiting for 1 piece of trim. We sent several messages but no response. The nicks on the doors and drawer fronts were everywhere. I asked for replacements on several wondering why would you even send out a piece with so many nicks? The stain on a couple of the doors and drawer fronts was grossly mismatched. I understand the difference between wood grain and resulting stain differences and how lighting plays a part but we had some that were just so off I asked for replacements again wondering how could this be. missed or considered ok to send out. One of the replacements was still quite off but I gave up because obviously they were not able to fix it. My kitchen is small so differences stick out. Despite my issues being addressed it was a negative experience. In addition, a couple of my soft close drawers are getting stuck but I'm not going back to them to...
