Being from the NY area I was excited to find Bambino's New York Style Pizzeria here in Georgia. I dined here on two separate occasions so I could try both the pasta selections and the pizza. I can safely say that Bambino's wouldn't make the top 25 in New Jersey... let alone NY. First, the prices are very reasonable. Most dishes are in the $10-12 range and pizzas are from $11 for a 12" cheese, with slices only $1.99. A wide variety of toppings are available. Beers are only $3. One places an order at the counter and pay right there. You are given a number and the server brings your food to you. There are about 13 booths and 7 seats at the bar. First up was the pasta dish. I chose rhe Spaghetti and meatballs for $8.99. This came with a nice large salad and bread. Service was fast... in under 10 minutes. The dish came with three decent size meatballs and what looked like a 1/2 lb of pasta. The bread, as it turned out was a chunk of their pizza dough. It should have been a hint of what was to come. The dish was hot with plenty of sauce. The meatballs were well made but lacked any real taste. Same for the sauce. It was passable in terms of texture but lacked flavor. The bread was doughy and dry with absolutely no flavor at all. But it was $8.99. The next time was a pizza. I had heard that I should try the cheese steak pizza so I did. This has steak-um like meat, green peppers and mushrooms, with lots of mozzarella. I got the 16" for $16.99... I think a decent price. This time I had to wait about 20 minutes. When it came out I wasn't sure I got the right pie because I couldn't see any toppings. I was told by the server that the toppings go on first and then the cheese. You wonder why they are called toppings if they aren't on top... but who am I to argue. Well what was presented was a sloppy mess. I needed at least 10 napkins to soak up even a little of the grease. I was never able to actually pick a slice up. I ete it entirely with a fork and knife. Once I was able to get a slice on my plate the flavor was ok... not great... and I just couldn't get past all the grease/oil. The dough was very sub par...doughy and tasteless like the bread. I was very disappointed. I did take some home to reheat but that did not go well. So if you are in the area try one of the pasta dishes and maybe stay with a simple pizza. You might enjoy it... but then again probably not. But you can't complain about the prices. BTW, parking is difficult as it is adjacent to a...
Read moreGood pizza, Stella Artois on tap. Donnie is awesome!! I haven't met Ronnie yet. Great job guys 👍👍
On my 4th trip here. I finally met Donnie and the owner. Really cool guys. Also, my new "go to". Hot Italian Sub 👌
This is my first time having to edit my review due to my experience at a restaurant.
Last week I stopped in to grab a pizza otw home and there service was absolutely terrible. I've noticed, I don't see the older staff (Ronnie, Donnie and the owner) as much and now they have a younger staff running the register and dining room areas.
The young lady Alaysia, was extremely rude with lack luster service. She made sure she found the only place in the restaurant that she could sweep dirt in my direction. The young gentleman with glasses that usually takes the orders....doesn't wash his hands between taking out the trash and handling food.
They were throwing trash from off the floor from the dining room into the kitchen area at each other while patrons are still in the dining room eating.
The last straw for me is when after waiting 45 min for my order, I asked the younger gentleman what was the ETA on my pizza and he looked confused and whispered to the cook. Then he comes to me and said 2 minutes. In actuality, they never started my order because it took another 20 minutes to receive my medium pizza. The gentleman didn't apologize for the wait or nothing just handed my my pizza with the look on his face like I disrespected him.
This place has great food but the younger employees don't make it the experience I had before when dealing with the older staff.
Once satisfied but now extremely...
Read moreMy lady & I usually frequent this location. We haven't been in a while due to the pandemic. We went in/evening of 3/21/22 & chose a booth near the corner to the far left after passing through the entrance doors. A gentleman (White, Bald) greeted us & informed orders must be placed at the front counter-which we were already aware of, but we appreciated the mention. After we confirmed what we both wanted to order, I made my way up to the front counter. The same gentleman had his back turned to the front counter & never had a clue I was standing there to place an order. By design, I remained silent just to observe & see exactly how long he would take to acknowledge a customer was standing at the counter. He proceeded to grab a sandwich (with his bare hands), slowly took a huge bite, placed the sandwich back into his basket, & continued glancing with complete satisfaction towards the kitchen - in the complete opposite direction of the front counter! I was blown away in disgust by his actions. We've never seen this guy before & expected a far more positive experience. I immediately retreated to our table, grabbed my lady, & said..."F-that! ...We're outta here!" There's no way in hell he's going to place $$ or anything else into my hands, while stuffing his face in clear customer's view on the front counter without any handwashing going on. In fairness, I get it...Employees have to eat too, but that's just plain NASTY. There's a better time & another place for that. We bounced. Perhaps we'll follow-up in a...
