Dickey's Barbecue Pit — Restaurant in Aurora Township

I never actually ate there. When I called about ordering lunch there later in the day, there was so much loud music in the background, I couldn't really understand what the woman who answered was saying. I asked about going there for lunch around 12:30 p.m., mind you I had been a regular customer in Wheaton when it was open, and she told me that I could not come there and that I could only order it through a doordash-type service, not from her. The web ad from my search listed her phone number and location with no indication that it was Doordash only type of service. She didn't even try to provide me a phone number for that!

Barbecue is already pricey, why would I pay a delivery service when I will be in the same area 3 MI away and don't have a real place to sit to eat over lunch?

When I asked about getting a pound of brisket and side options, the woman couldn't tell me anything other than I had to go online to do everything. She couldn't answer questions about how it was cooked, wet dry, sliced or chopped, how they package the sauce options, or even confirm that they cooked in a pit like the Dickey's restaurants in South Texas.

This call was between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m., not when they were busy with other customers. I don't understand. It became a matter of trust. I didn't trust I'd be happy after paying a delivery fee for a product the seller couldn't adequately describe. Then found not listed on the official, Dickey's Barbecue website when I went to it directly.

I guess I will have to find a reason to be in Elwood sometime soon to satisfy...

Went in and ordered two of the 3 meat plates. Brisket was all fat, what was supposed to be pulled pork was slices of what may or may not be some type of pork. They did not give me the Texas toast that was supposed to be part of the meal and also gave me the incorrect sides. Dickies does a great job with the barbecue! Five or six meat choices. All of them are delicious. The thing with the giant baked potato is truly fantastic. I'm a little disappointed that the bangers and mash has been taken off the menu and nobody seems to know what I'm talking about anymore but I'm working through my despair... By...
