Most of us have only been to a Dunkin donuts, perhaps a Krispy Kreme, or even an Amy Joy donut back in the day... But comparing these to George's donuts is like a Honda Civic to a Rolls-Royce phantom. There is simply no comparison. Every time I go near George's it's closed, I used to be annoyed by this until one day I saw that it was open and went in. There was a couple of flats of donuts left but other than that the store was completely empty. I got to talk to the girl behind the counter and she explained that they start cooking at 1:00 a.m. and when they open they sell the entire store out every day, usually within a couple of hours. I was fortunate enough to be able to pick up a couple of their jelly donuts and oh my god... Buyer beware. I know there's an opioid crisis in the US, my only assumption is that people who tried that never had access to a George's donut! You have seriously never had anything like this. It's pointless for me to try and describe what something tastes like... So here's the trick, getting there before they're all sold out. I would call the store in the morning and ask if they can take an order over the phone. At least that guarantees that when you get there you won't be disappointed. Try one of their donuts, you'll be hooked for life. (And morbidly obese if you're...
Read moreI finally opened the doors of George’s Donuts and proclaimed .. I am finally going to try these after hearing about this place for 10 years! Ya’ know what? They are amazing!!! And worth the hype that I have heard from so many people that are my customers at my job. Delicious! I tried several different donuts and I think my favorite .. so far... is the glazed .. simple and simply devine! The inside of the shop is decorated nicely and when I went in there was a little baby in a makeshift play area and she was happily bouncing around in her bouncy seat.. the atmosphere.. immediately warm and welcoming. I was told you have to go early to get donuts or they run out.. but I was there at 10 am and there were plenty to choose from.. These are great donuts .. you need to try one or a dozen! *This review is for when this was George’s donuts .. I’m not sure if this is a relation or a whole...
Read moreI was craving a doughnut and was in the Aurora early enough to stop at Nik's. Past few days I've passed the shop at the end of the day, like 4-5 pm and it's clearly closed. Today I finished a job relatively early enough so I could get gas and grab a doughnut or two.
Very clean and updated inside. The woman at the register was very nice. I asked for 3 doughnuts. I got a cream filled with maple Frosting, blueberry filled with vanilla icing, and a glazed doughnut. After eating them both, you could tell that they were made that day. Very soft and chewy. Out of the three the blueberry filled was my favorite, but the glazed was one of the better glazed doughnuts I've had in a long while.
I'd go back and try other doughnuts. The Black Raspberry filled caught...
