The first amusement ride was added in 1889, and the park's first roller coaster – later known as the Big Dipper – was built in 1925.

Please!!! SAFE Geauga Lake!!! Bring it back!!! Our children had the best time every single summer! Season Passes were great! Awesome memories!!! There is an amazing YouTube flyover video they did a few years back. Amazing, but so sad and it's a tearjerker for sure. I went here growing up and it was the perfect park in the day. Clean, maintained and very user friendly! So sad that Cedar Fair, the parent company, shut them down fearing they'd pull attendance from Cedar Point. For those of us on the East Side, who wouldn't have gone to Cedar Point anyways, it was the perfect place. Nowadays, check out Waldameer in Erie, PA. Smaller, but...

I never went to the amusement park side (was gone before I was born), but I did go to Wildwater Kingdom for quite a while before it shut down. Tons of fun. And man, I wish neither of them had to go.
