Hakka Wok — Restaurant in Aurora

This was a very serendipitous moment for us, this past Sunday...

In the “mood” for Chinese food, I searched the area what had good reviews around here. I saw a place in Solon, but unfortunately, they closed at 8pm on Sundays (during tPandemic ‘20).

So I searched more and found this place....they close at 8:30pm!!! Just enough time!

Called and put-in our order and went to pick it up. When she read me my order back, I thought I had ordered pork instead of chicken. When the nice lady behind the counter noticed my disappointment, she nicely said “don’t worry, they’re both good.”

At-home, unpacking this food, we were glad to see that they use fresh ingredients and not the over-breaded, commercially produced pieces. Instead, we got fresh cuts of white meat chicken, and my wife got the beef and she was very pleased with that too! Eating the food, I couldn’t help but chuckle at what the lady said...and she was right. But next time I’m getting the pork!

I live less than 5 miles from this place, We’ve lived in this area almost 7 years now...I can’t believe just now, We decided to give this place a try! There’s a saying...”don’t judge a book by its cover”....this place is so unassuming from the outside, with its plain brick structure and the building oddly facing sideways. But what they do is cook good food, and if you’re in the “mood”....give this place a try!...

I ordered two Szechuan combos. When I returned home I opened them up and there was only 4 pieces of chicken and the beef was in small pieces that didn’t even amount to anything. It looked like dog food. The vegetable were soggy and honestly looked like we had gotten the leftovers from someone else’s order. We called and explained that there wasn’t much meat and or veggies in our order. The lady I was on the phone with claimed I ordered off of the lunch menu (which I did not) but either way... you should still actually give people more than 4 pieces of meat. She said we could come back and fix the order. My husband gets there and they tried to charge the difference from lunch to dinner combo and literally took a pen and counted the chicken because we brought back the food to show them. We had discussed all of this over the phone and by the time we get there they haven’t even started making our order again and we had to wait 30+ minutes. I would not recommend this place because the customer service...

Excellent service, very kind and polite lady taking orders. Fresh , tasty and delicious food. They're only doing takeout at the moment which was fine with us since we are driving through. Anyway, both my husband's and my food was great, very tasty and very fresh tasting chicken, amazingly tender and juicy. Their fried rice is the best I've ever had. My husband also ordered a side of chow-mein and even those taste homemade 😋 their egg rolls are amazing as well, best I've had. My tummy is happy but my heart is sad because we're from Texas and I might never eat this deliciousness...
