Today was my first time here, and it was a disappointment. I only ordered two drinks because paying $8 for a slice of cheesecake seemed absurd, and the desserts didn’t look fresh. A menu should be available on the counter for easy reading; this would help prevent people from gathering in the same spot and asking if others are in line, as it was unclear who was just browsing, waiting to pick up, or ready to order.
The place was extremely loud and crowded, making it difficult for the cashier to hear or understand my questions, and she didn’t seem knowledgeable about the menu. There were no available seats, so we had to take our items to go. Given the noise level, we didn’t mind too much, but I didn’t expect that two drinks would take nearly 20 minutes to prepare. I dislike being in places where we have to yell to communicate. Like many coffee shops, it seemed that some customers were just occupying space on their computers without actually eating or drinking.
I ordered an Adeni/Karak chai, which was piping hot and required time to cool down. When I finally tasted it, I found it bland and reminiscent of hot water. When I poured it into a mug, I noticed that all the spices were sitting at the bottom, indicating it wasn’t well mixed, and I wasn’t sure if it had any sweetener. For the price, I expected more. The second drink was a mango dragon fruit, which was decent but not worth the $7.50 price tag.
Overall, spending $15 for two drinks felt like poor value, especially with the unexpected wait time and the lack of seating while we waited amidst the chaos of people. I might give it another try on a less busy day, but my first impression was confusing and not what I had hoped for.
Perhaps consider moving the tables near the pickup section or adding a bench against the window for people who are waiting. Additionally, clearer signage, queue lines, or barriers to guide customers in the ordering process...
Read moreVisited the cafe a couple days ago. A nice gentleman helped us at the register, even though the receipt reads Mikaela. I’m assuming it was the lady at the coffee machine. I learned that it was opened only about a month ago, so everything is brand new and clean. Yemeni style coffee house.
Ordered pistachio latte hot, pistachio milk cake and Nutella big croissant to go. Liked both items we ate there. Even though, the cake was on a sweeter side, so I would select a non-sweet drink for it next time. Latte was pretty good, with art and decent sweet, majority of sweet green “sauce” was left on the bottom of the cup. I found it when the drink was almost done. So I would order very light sweetness level next time:) Design of the place and atmosphere was great, not your typical American cheap coffee shop. Reminded me of places I visited in UK and OAE. Bathrooms are impeccable with brand new CINTAS toiletries and aromatic (not stinky) soap.
The only complaint is the giant croissant we took home to eat later in the day was pretty old. Both my husband and I have 10+ years experience in bakeries (he is a pastry chef) and we both agreed it was a day or two old. So majority of it was enjoyed by our doggies. I emailed the business through their website contact form. Hopefully, they will get back to me.
I’m planning on a few friends-get-togethers in this newly discovered...
Read moreI’m giving my review only two stars because it took over 20 minutes to get my coffee when the shop didn’t seem particularly busy, and I watched a few cars pass through the drive thru while I waited.
Ordered a coffee to go since my wife was having a bit of a headache in between stops during a busy day and the shop was on the way. The coffee was decent once I got it.
They give you a buzzer that’ll go off when your order is ready, and mine never went off after 22-25 minutes, so I returned to the counter to ask for a refund. They looked at my buzzer like they didn’t even have it in the system and rather than agree to give a refund, offered to make the coffee. Although frustrated, I agreed to the coffee because it was to help my wife’s headache which was more important than the money. Time was already wasted.
Disappointed with the customer service, the long wait, and the lack of trying to fix it with the customer beyond giving them what they ordered despite the inconvenience.
And although the coffee was good, I don’t plan to return. There’s a Dutch Bros next door that can get a coffee out faster, as well as other coffee shops a short drive away that’ll also be faster and at least give a refund when asked, and would probably include the coffee that was ordered...
