Tried this place just today (9/24) for the first time. I had two appointments at the VA with some time between them. I saw this place on Google Maps, and liked what I read, so we gave it a try. I'll have the same situation again on Thursday, so you can bet your botas I will be there again. It's located just past Metropolis and the VA. I had the Enchiladas Verdes with rice and beans. The enchiladas were the best I ever had, and I've had a lot of 'em in my 76 years. The tortillas looked and tasted like they were just made. The chicken was chunky, plentiful, and very flavorful. There was ample white cheese covering them. And the green (tomatillo) sauce was delicious and very spicy. The refried beans were a few cuts above the standard, and the rice was fluffy, moist and tasty. The whole plate seemed like it was right out of Mamacita's cocina. And it was reasonably priced. The chips were above average, and the red sauce was very watery, but absolutely delicious. As to the atmosphere, it was perfect, just the way a Mexican Restaurant should look; small, very, VERY casual, with no pretenses. And the staff was very friendly. Now I will be torn between trying something different, and going with a sure winner. Glad the VA is my main health care provider as I plan to...

The establishment is located between a service road, a local road connecting to a highway and a highway - so parking and locating it can be difficult.
There is a drive-thru with no menu or speaker, so one would have to lean in and yell into the working kitchen.
The ordering counter is immediately to one's right as they enter, and someone smiling and helpful assisted selecting my breakfast through the lightheadedness, and I sat in the back facing a painting the seventies would have rejected.
Breakfast tacos and a barbacoa taco soon arrived...and they were pretty good. The bacon resembled more jerky than anything else, but the barbacoa was excellent.
My three tacos cost me under $15, and I left pleased.
I would definitely recommend if one is in the area - particularly if they recently had their...

The cashier was super friendly and provided exceptional customer service to everyone who entered while we were waiting for our order. I love that this place is open early enough for pre-flight breakfast.
We ordered breakfast tacos to go (I got huevos y papas c/nopales, while my wife got fideo y frijoles.) I opened my wife’s taco by accident, but I saw enough to know that whenever I’m feeling under-the-weather, I want fideo from Taqueria Morelos. We both got salsa verde. Wife didn’t end up needing hers, but it had the perfect level of spice.
Anyway, my taco c/huevos y papas y nopales was so, so good. Just, wow. We will be back to try...
