Los Rancheros — Restaurant in Avon

Food very good, service a bit slow, but it was busy. From what we had, I would say Los Rancheros is more authentic than the typical "Mexican" fare I've had so far in the Indianapolis area. My wife had the Mojarra Frita (fried whole Talapia), her go-to at Mexican places, and enjoyed it. I can't recall the name of the steak platter I had, and it's not listed on their on-line menu. It was a skirt steak covered in spicy beans. It was very good as well, and very spicy indeed. Generous portions served fresh. I love this restaurant. The service is always fast and friendly. The food is hot, freshly prepared and delicious. The portions are generous and the prices fair. If your in the area you should visit this gem. It has become a place I enjoy frequenting several times a year. I highly recommend the enchiladas suizas. They are the best I have had. They were definitely short staffed. Kitchen forgot to add cheese and avocado to one of the items we ordered, no rice was delivered as requested. Chicken had 4 pieces of rubbery chicken in it. Plus, I had a burrito that had broccoli in it- that wasn’t even listed in the menu item.
