Hammy's Burgers — Restaurant in Bainbridge Island

As we stood off to the side looking at the menu, an employee eventually came over to the register and began sighing. We didn't think much of it then, but he continued as we placed our order. After ringing up each item, he would loudly drop his hand from the register to the counter with an exaggerated thud. About a second after the drop, another sigh.

Now, these aren't your typical, "Hi, I have angsty emotions and also I like Nirvana and can't even," sighs. These are sighs that you hear from your world-weary uncle as he's sitting on his well-worn couch, each stain a forgotten story on his formerly white T-shirt, glassy eyes staring at the TV past his energetic brood, with a limp arm outstretched, attached to an equally limp hand holding a perspiring can of generic beer with just enough force in the fingers that the whole can doesn't tip any more than it's already tipping towards the floor.

The thud, sigh symphony continued. The rhythm was mesmerizing. We followed the steady beat as it continued along. We could feel the stream of air as it was exhaled from full lungs, as if we were sails on a tall ship from another time, catching the full force of an ocean breeze. Sailing, takes me away to where I've always heard it could be... It may have been formed from despair, but in its final form, it was...beautiful. We somehow were able to break ourselves free from the spell to complete our order, asking for tartar sauce on the side, because I know it, you know it, everybody knows that onion rings and tartar sauce are delicious together.

Our food arrived. Tartar sauce was dumped all over the inside of our burgers and chicken sandwich. It was a tartar sauce tragedy. At least we'll always have our moment at...

Was planning a walk around the plaza and wanted to end up at Hammy's.

Ordered for pickup through the website to be ready in 45 mins. Once I received the order confirmation my taste buds went into 'salivating' mode.

We were strolling along boardwalk and ring, got another notification. Your burgers are ready.!?!?!? It was 12:45, pickup was set for 1pm.

Booked it over to the burger joint to find our burgers in a bag by the window for pickup.

Grabbed a table outside and began to nosh. Got a John Wayne and a Classic with a Big Basket.

Not like the pictures. Bad from the start. Potato bun? Why use something with no flavor and no structural integrity. Burgers were already beginning to fall apart. God only knows how much our burgers would've disintegrated if we had picked up at the time we were planning.

The rest of the burger was nothing to be proud of. Found no seasoning on the patty itself. I was hoping to enjoy the never before heard of 'tarter tot' in my Big basket but yet another experience that came up short. (online menu in need of a proofread before posting).

If this is the Island's Best Burger, Bainbridge I say," you can do better!" Doing a google search for burgers on Bainbridge, it looks to be the 'only' burger place on Bainbridge. If there is going to be gloating on such a low bar, please make the burgers taste like...

1st: our food was cold, it's a $1 for an extra price of fricken Lettus or rather anything extra! Owner didn't care that the food was cold, nor did they offer to do anything about it. The burgers where dry, the fries are NOT fresh, and to top it off the drink fountain thing leaks and is all over the floor. That's how you get bugs!

2nd there was another review about a kid getting hurt by slipping and hitting a counter! The owner didn't care again. The near by employee said "oh sorry" and continued chatting with their assumed friend. The boy has a huge bruise and all they offered was an iou by "remembering your face" what kind of crap is that!

Lastly.... We both left 1* reviews on their Facebook page, I was confronted with "this never came to my attention" when I replied with you where there, they BLOCKED me! While using. Friends Facebook to view my review was deleted and so was the other 1* reviews! Think about what kind of crap whole they're running here!

They can't take any criticism, nor do they care if they give any kind of good Service. Their prices are Awful and high way robbery.

I wonder how many other reviews where deleted and people blocked to keep their 4* rating! Makes me wander!

I turned to google because they can't delete this. This needs to be seen. Do NOT eat here! If you get salmonella they won't care!
