Here for a two night sisters weekend getaway and had a mostly fantastic stay! We stayed in Room 6 which was gorgeous and comfortable with a great view from the balcony over the bay. Staff were super responsive and friendly with any questions we had, including a problem with our electronic lock not working (they had a back up key). Everything was very clean and well maintained in the room and bathroom. Enjoyed the shower and the deep soaking tub, though remember to bring your own bath salts. Super thoughtful touches like a USB hub on one side of the bed and a water filtration system for refilling our water bottles at one of the sinks. The fireplace worked great and the chairs in front of it were cozy to sit in and read, though a bit dark. The room itself was very quiet and the bed comfy, though the mattress definitely had divots from long use.
The only downsides were noise out of the control of the Inn. 8:45 pm Saturday night some awful live music somewhere nearby kicked in and kept at it until 10 pm. Not a problem if you’re not trying to relax quietly in the room at that time. There was also a deep thrum that never let up but was really only noticeable when trying to fall asleep, like a deep electrical generator noise somewhere nearby.
Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the comfortable and lovely room, perfect for us to hang out in after a day shopping or exploring island. The frozen yogurt place at the bottom of the steps was delightful, we went both afternoons we were there. We tried the breakfast place at the Marketplace our second morning and while it was limited, it was tasty and convenient. Easy short drive to downtown Bainbridge for lots of other options, or up to Via Rosa for lunch and dinner. If returned, maybe a spot further back in the complex in one of the Garden rooms to see if that would reduce the noise of being on the Main Street? Loved the close access to the beach and...
Read moreI spent one night at this inn. My room was clean and comfortable, with a desk, a TV and phone, an easy chair, many pillows of different thicknesses on the bed, a coffee tea maker (Keurig, so I guess you have to use the pods provided), two large sinks, a nice bathroom, an easy to use thermostat, a minifridge, and a hairdryer with a diffuser. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are conveniently located in dispensers in the shower. Unlike some writeups of this hotel, parking is available--I parked right outside my door. Checkin would have been easy EXCEPT the code to my door didn't work. So I returned to the main ofice (roughly a short block away). They gave me a key. The key didn't work. Back to the office. Turns out that the deadbolt had been thrown and what's more, the door or the lock was mishung or had slipped, so that you had to jigger the key every time you used it. Sometimes I was able to open it with no trouble, other times, not. I got to the point that when I went out to my car, I put something in the door so it wouldn't shut. This is fixable, so presumably someone will get it repaired. My other beef about the room is that there is no microwave (there is one microwave on the premises, but it was in a different building). I don't drink caffeine and none of the Keurig pods appealed to me. That said, these are small matters. The place is very pleasant, and downtown Winslow is just a few...
Read moreBoy did we learn a lot when visiting this upscale Tudor village on Bainbridge. Never have I met both the nastiness and nicest people in my life. My regret is that I wish we had stayed at the Inn, instead of downtown Bainbridge. We were able to get a peak of the rooms and they look absolutely stunning. We tried almost every dining experience and were really surprised to lean that the Owner of Pleasant Beach owns most of the food establishments as well, Marketplace, Hammy's, Beach House and Manor House. While getting coffee at the Marketplace some of the locals got to chatting with us. It seems there is a lot of turmoil with the staff and atmosphere of this place. Everyone has smiling facing, customer service was good, but when talking with some of the people you found out all the in's and out's of this place very quickly. For how much they charge for everything it is surprising to hear that so many of their employees are mistreated, and underpaid. We heard this from 5 different locals when visiting! I'll spare all the details and I don't know if it was the luck of the draw being down there but you drive up with this great feeling and the longer you stay you start to feel weird being there. You start to feel like everyone is either very gosspipy/fake or it's really true everything you hear when...
