Betty's Cafeteria — Restaurant in Bainbridge

Stopped here for lunch today, after doing some Google searches for restaurants in Bainbridge. We were not disappointed. The food was fantastic. Fried chicken was moist, tender, and not the least bit greasy. I had greens and field peas, with their fried cornbread. Absolutely outstanding food. The service was also amazing. The lady behind the bar was super friendly and helpful as she explained how everything worked. (It looks like a buffet, but it’s a cafeteria style thing with meat and two sides, plus a bread. And while it’s not “all you can eat”, it’s all I could eat!) it was also the cleanest restaurant I have been to in years. The place was spotless, including the restrooms. And all this for $8.25 a plate. Yes, you read that right. As of 3/20/2023, I got a huge plate of amazing food that was fresh and homemade, for less than it cost to eat a greasy cheeseburger and cold fries from Hardee’s or Wendy’s. Visiting from out of town went there twice, staff not to friendly to the regulars they seem very helpful. The food was very good for the value my first order was to go and when I got home my butter beans were everywhere. The second time I went thru drive thu. A menu board was up that helped a lot. I order the chicken and dumplings they were out of boiled and bbq chicken so I had to get baked. The corn bread both times was like eating a shingle off a roof. Not sure how many stars I really want to give. The people were very nice. We were greeted when we walked in and told to "come around and see what is left" of the breakfast food. There was a little bit of bacon, various pieces of sausage and ham and a breaded steak, diced potatoes, 2 kinds of grits, scrambled eggs, and biscuits and gravy.
