El Majahual Restaurant — Restaurant in Bakersfield

I've tried at least 200 different pupusa places in my lifetime. . .10+ in Bakersfield alone, from the ones made at home posted on the FB marketplace to the one at Casitas (something) and the "top rated" pupusa truck in Bakersfield (which by the way took me to pretty sketchy places), and every other pupusa place I've found in Bakersfield and these are by FAR the best ones, from the masa flavor, to the filling. To the sauce (they have normal salsa roja as well as a spicy one, which is nice cause most places can't nail one salsa Roja, let alone too.) I'm also not one for curtido but this one is 👌.

Price is average based on the other places I've tried locally. I live NW of Bakersfield so its about a 30 min drive east for me (and again, not the nicest of areas- by El Mercado Latino), but...

This is my favorite place for Pupusas in Bakersfield. Not greasy. They are filled appropriately.

I've been here a number of times and it's never been bad.

Today, I had the empanadillas de carne, they were very tasty and I definitely eat them again.

The waitress is nice, but there were aot of people there and everything took longer than what I've waited for in the past.

Definitely a go to spot!...
