Foster's Donuts — Restaurant in Bakersfield

I so looked forward to going to Foster's Donuts. What a disappointment. The employees were nice. That is the only good thing about it. I purchased three donuts. A Old Fashioned Glazed, Apple Fritter and a Cream Filled Chocolate Donut. The Old Fashioned tasted like pure sugar. There was absolutely no 'Old Fashioned' in it. The Cream Filled Chocolate Donut tasted funny. It was like the cream was on the verge of spoiling. Finally the Apple Fritter was so hard it was nearly crunchy. Furthermore, the center was raw. This place is capable of 4 or 5 stars, but their inconsistencies in their freshness of their donuts is what gives them a 2 star. I've been going here every now and then for the past 5 years. I dont like that there is a good chance the donuts I get are 1-2 days old. I dont understand how they dont realize people can taste this? Well this last time was the final straw. I'm now making the trek to Jess's donuts whenever I want donuts on this...

These donuts are REALLY GREAT (when they are FRESH!). Prices are compatible to any other donut shop. Pretty decent selection throughout the morning. And THEY GLAZE THEIR RAISED BEFORE ICING THEM! That's ALWAYS a PLUS & a NECESSITY in my book! Also, their service people are friendly and helpful- not pushy or rushing! That is nice. Def recommend...
