Habit Burger & Grill — Restaurant in Bakersfield

This location is awesome! It’s in an awesome shopping center and shares a building with Pieology. The staff was very friendly and attentive, they have great deals and even got a free burger out of it! I went on a Friday evening and it wasn’t overly busy, which I thought it was going to be. The wait time for a burger and fries was less than 5 minutes and I could tell the crew was working hard to keep up with the orders. This location also has a drive through if you’re too lazy to go inside cause sometimes I just want them to hand me my food through a window, let’s keep it real.

The above rating was five stars, that was the first time I have ever been to this habit location, my second time going was the complete opposite! They tried charging me for medium milkshake and didn’t want to give me the drink with the combo meal since they could not upgrade they sold it to a milkshake for some reason? Then we got to the window the lady was so rude, I asked her for salt packets twice, because she didn’t understand me and I enunciate myself very well so she went and got her manager, who opened up the window and said what kind of sauce were you wanting? And I said all we needed were a couple of salt packets. My advice to the girl at the window who is taking orders and handing them out the drive-through is that if you cannot multitask enough to get somebody’s order right and hand it to them then you should not be in that position you should be in the back cooking burgers! I was surprisingly disappointed during this visit and another afterwards.

The only saving grace was the food tasted good. I took about 25 minutes to get our three orders, there was water/fluid on the floor by the soda dispenser, almost every surface including the floors were sticky. The place had tables that were dirty, our table was dirty we had to clean it off in order to sit and dine.

The staff was was not mean but not all that friendly. The sad part of it all is that it was a slow time, there were only 4 other people in the place and two of them had been waiting on their order, I know this because I heard them talking about how long it was taking.

I don't know if this is a sign so I did go back another time afterwards and it was the same situation however; the second visit there were 8 people in the place. It does seem to be a trend at this location but not the others at least in my experience.

Day crew is amazing!!!! Night crew, not so much. Day crew is friendly, welcoming, helpful, and even does rounds to check on their guests. And the food during the day is always spot on with no errors! Night crew.... Unprofessional. Yelling across the restaurant at coworkers who are on break and eating there. Charging extra for food not ordered then when asked about it they said, ohhh that's just how the tickets are printed, its fine. Guess what appeared on the tray? The extra food not ordered but paid for. Kudos for getting the order right off the the ticket but don't lie to my face and say I wasn't charged for it and that its the computers fault. Also, something HUGE!!!! FOOD QUALITY!!!! Great during the day but night shift doesn't CLEAN THE GRILL!!! Grilled onions on 2 sandwiches that requested none. Not put there on purpose, but transferred from leftovers of previously grilled orders. Gross. I will go back because overall, its a good place. Just will never go during the evening...
