Ritmo Kitchen and Lounge — Restaurant in Bakersfield

This place was not what we were expecting. Went for our anniversary to a 'fancy' steak house. It was not very fancy inside. Country music? Why?

The steak was amazing, but the pasta and shrimp was nearly flavorless.

There was one server/host, and one bartender when we arrived. There was only 4 couples in the restaurant, but it still took a very long time to get anything. Our food came out before our drinks, and the bartender keep get our orders wrong. Our second drink did not come till after we were done eating and it was wrong. I was surprised that one bartender was incapable of accurately serving drinks to like 10 people over the course of an hour.

Our server worked his butt off, and was very nice. Young guy with a trendy hair cut. He deserves props because he was working the whole room.

I wanted to give it more stars because the steak was so good and our server was so nice, but this place is not work the price tag.

Side note: at some point another female server did arrive at work and 4 staff members congregated near the front and seemed to be having a disagreement. The female server then went and had half a melt down on her cell phone by the bathroom. As I was approaching I could see and hear her having a heated conversation, and when I got close...

Went here about a week ago for my birthday I think it was a Thursday and they had a steak dinner special. The restaurant is decent sized has a nice patio and seems like it has a good atmosphere to it. It was pretty slow when we got there but it livened up by the time we left service was great really fast and attentive we had a nice server. My daughter ran all around the restaurant and everyone was really kind to her. The food was the star of the show. We ordered the ribeye tacos and they might’ve been some of the best tacos I’ve had the meat was so juicy and flavorful the guacamole and pickled onions add a lot of flavor and the grilled cheese it was just all amazing ! We also had some of the steak which was the same just cooked and seasoned to perfection ! All the drinks are really good to hear to well balanced and flavorful. I reserved a spot here for my birthday, as you can see it says dj etc anyway when i arrived no dj so i asked the waitress was it ok to switch the music up she said long as it’s not off the wall, i was saying a mutual radio station she came back and told me the manager said No. Mean time they’re playing a song rapping bout Suckin D*, they approached everyone’s table with sparklers and song happy birthday i had to ask them were they even gonna come to mine. I asked to speak to the manager i asked him was his establishment only to please one crowd, he told me yes and did i read the name of the bar.
