Deli Delicious #23 - Hageman — Restaurant in Bakersfield

Unfortunately, never got the opportunity to try this new place out. We arrived at 11:20am and the ordering staff was friendly and after placing our order we stepped aside. The customer next to me had called in an order to go, to be ready by 11:30-11:35am. Her order wasn't even in the process of being made when she arrived and she finally got her order at 11:55am. We still had nothing but a drink. At 12:00pm we inquired about our lunches as we are all now late back to work and I had sent my one daughter next door to Starbucks to grab a sandwich since she could not be late seeing how she works at a school. They could not give us an answer as to where in line our order was. I noticed the orders were not coming out in the order they had been place and it was quite random and seemed the sandwich staff & manager were running around with their heads cut off with no answers in sight. At 12:15pm we left with no lunch, only the drink we had been given 50 minutes earlier. This was my first and my last visit. :/ Unfortunately, this was a horrible experience. I hate to see new businesses struggle like this but they need to get a rhythm down or they are not going to make it. Just a Footnote: The parking situation is horrible as you have to park behind other businesses, walk around the side of the building to access business. The parking in front of the deli is not advisable. It doubles as the entrance to a Starbucks drive thru and is more than three cars are in line….. ...

The food was delicious but the employees did not know how to change out the fountain syrups. I notified the cashier that it was out and she said they'll fix it, and after standing there for a while I notified another employee who asked the first girl and they both said they don't know how because the guys do that. It would had been nice to be told so I didn't stand there waiting for nothing. I explained how to do it since I worked in food service and they just started at each other. The Male restroom was out of toilet paper. The female restroom had the paper towels stocked incorrectly where you couldn't...

I stopped off to grab a couple of sandwiches 🥪 to go. I ordered a turkey, avocado 🥑 , cheese on Dutch 🥖, it was pretty good but lacked sufficient amount of avocado-too small amount, hardly taste it. Also ordered pastrami (hot) on Dutch bread, sadly it was just average. Pastrami was boring, flavorless meat. It was comparable to already packaged meat you get at supermarket. A lot of places in Bakersfield sell sandwiches. I sure hope management takes note 📝 and kicks it up a notch, or you guys will be...
