Cali Fresh Grill — Restaurant in Baldwin Park

This restaurant in our area was recently taken over by new management/owners and they were in the middle of their soft launch, so we decided to stop in and give them a try.

The restaurant had plenty of parking and inside it was very clean and well lit. You can tell they put a lot of time and effort into the renovation and making it nice.

The food is standard American fare (burgers, sandwiches, club sandwiches, fries, etc…) as well as some non-traditional items such as a Gyro. I believe they said they will be adding some Mexican items once they are fully launched.

I love a good Gyro, so that was my order. I got the combo with a side salad. The portions were great and the food was very tasty & filling. I noticed they had a full breakfast menu as well, I would bet they make tasty breakfast/brunch food. Another nice touch, the menu says that if an item is not on there, just ask for it - so they are willing to go the extra mile for their customers! That is very rare these days.

Ordered fried zucchini and extra ranch on the side. Once I get to the window it took about 7 minutes to get my food. The lady handed it to me and closed the window. I looked in the bag and there were 2 small ranches. I tried to get their attention. I knocked on the window, yelled hello, honked and they never came. I ended up leaving since no one responded. I did ask for extra ranch but what can I do at this point. I get home and the zucchini is extra fried to where it's a little tough to bite and very salty. I wanted to love this place with the new owners but so far, not so good....

This is my go-to spot for breakfast in the area. They have breakfast special starting off at about $6. I usually get the willows rancheros for a little over $7 or corned beef hash with three eggs for about $10. Cup of coffee with unlimited refills is only $1.75 which is about half what other restaurants charge. It's very possible to get breakfast with coffee for roughly $10 all in.
