Haru Japanese Cuisine — Restaurant in Baldwin Park

I try to be honest with all my views. The food was as expected and tasted fine. They had some nice presentation on some of the rolls which was great.

However, my first impression will often influence my overall experience. I love a good deal. I saw their bento on the menu thinking it comes with 4 pc roll, since it shows 4 pc roll, sashimi and a teriyaki chicken or sushi, roll and tempura. However, the actual bento box only had 4 items, the roll wasnt there as you can see in my second photo. I wouldn't have minded if the photo was an accurate representation of what to expect; however, I found the photo to be misleading.

Again, food was fine, dining experience was fine, service was pleasant enough. I just felt like I was a bit misled.

Advice to management would be to update the photos at some point or include a disclaimer that the photo is not representative of the actual bento...

Food Service businesses could involve long hours and tedious work. However, regardless of the situation, a server should stay chilled and keep any frustration to oneself. I was picking up some items in the late evening and this place barely had any customers. understood that the management could be frustrated with an idling evening. At first, the manger or senior server didn't greet or present any pleasantries. When I announced my order, while he was somewhat on the edgy side, telling what's ensued. He further lectured on the proper way to carry the food. I didn't budge and decided to carry it my own comfy way. Then, he started acting grumpier and dishing out antics with contorted faces and strange gibberish. I felt sorry for his pranks, which would only make his day...

You can never go wrong with Miso Soup and Shrimp Tempura! It makes for a modest lunch especially during the rain. Both are considered sides on the menu so the portion is small.

The Miso Soup is made with soybean paste and a fish stock. It includes diced Tofu and cuts of Seaweed. The Shrimp Tempura is light, airy, yet crunchy.

Truly difficult to find quality Japanese Cuisine so Haru is much appreciated.
