Los Cerritos Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Baldwin

We went at an off hour, about 3pm. They still had their buffet line up but since this was our first time there, i had to sample their Texas Fajita Nachos. Or ultimate Nachos. Can't remember the actual name. I figured it a place can't do good Nachos, then no point in going again.

We got our chips and salsa first. The chips were crispy and held up pretty well during dipping. The salsa had a nice heat to it, more flavorful than too spicy, and had a good consistency, not too watery or too chunky/ tomato tasting.

I got my Nachos and they were a good amount. The meats were well seasoned and not tough.

Service was quick and our food was hot. My wife's fajitas had that fresh off the grill sizzle we all love.

Los Cerritos have Karaoke nights on Saturdays starting around 6 pm. The only reason I gave an overall 4 stars is because, when I called earlier, I was told that Karaoke was from 6-10 pm, but the Karaoke guy was not very friendly and cut the fun around 9 pm. I had friends going for the first time and that was disappointing... On the positive note, the food and the atmosphere were really great! I haven't been there in a while before yesterday, but I used to go when my kids were younger. Never go again for take out. Been several times before but last 3 times no one was interested in taking my order. Third time walked out and went to another Mexican restaurant. Continued to check out dine in customers that walked up after I was there and stated I wanted to place a to go order and knew what I wanted. Cashier looked at me, turned away as though I was intruding in her day to continue checking out many customers who were there after I arrived. Meals for 4 adults so a substantial order.
