Stew N Que Restaurant — Restaurant in Baldwin

My mom and I were in the area at lunchtime and several people suggested the Stew N Que saying the cafeteria style Southern food was really good. My mom and I agree with this well deserved reputation.

The restaurant is in downtown Baldwin about half a mile off of highway 441 across the street from the post office. There is parking out front of the restaurant with the entrance at street level.

It's child friendly with both tables and booths. They have child sized booster seats for children.

The serving line begins with near the door. There are a variety of vegetables and a couple of meats and you get a meat and two vegetables.

My mom picked the beef stroganaff with green beans and sweet potato casserole. I had fried chicken tenders with green beans and carrots with an add on of creamed corn.

There are a variety of desserts that looked tasty however we passed on any and found our meals filling.

A lady came by several times to check on us and if we needed our drinks, sweet tea for me and water for my mom, refilled.

Everyone was friendly, lots of local people eating here. A couple people suggested a visit for breakfast.

I'm only giving this restaurant one star because of their breakfast, I really enjoy their country breakfast. The staff is another story. The woman that works the register, an older lady with a hat, is always there when I stop by. The first time I encountered her she was a bit standoffish, I figured she might be having a bad day so I brush it off. However, it becomes a reoccurring thing. This morning it ticked me off, I always mind my manners(no ma'am, yes ma'am, please & thank you) this woman never replies, in fact she never says a word to me, except today as I thank her and am gathering my large purchase she looks at me and says "I'm done with you" twice, basically telling me to leave, get out of her face....

BEWARE! Owner ruined my special day at Jaemor-DO NOT BOOK for your wedding, parties, or ANY event. Owner arrived almost 2 hours late & never apologized. She acted as if she had no idea the time she was suppose to be there. We ordered 25lbs of chicken tenders and she had 10 and said she fried some chicken because she didn't have enough tenders. She brought EGG salad instead of POTATO salad--How do you confuse those? She forgot the honey mustard as we specially requested. The fried squash was slimy and the macaroni was so salty. We had our catering contract in writing but she acted like we WERE at fault??!Owner offered NO discount on her mistakes. NEVER AGAIN-Claims to be a Christian woman but is a hateful...
