ย ย ย Read moreI was working way out here the other day and finally had an excuse to give this place a try! Pick up a menu at the counter and find yourself a table. The back room (where the stage for musical performances is) has normal tables and chairs. But in the front room are a few long, picnic table high-tops with tall benches. They look pretty cool, but I can't say I was interested in sitting there - haha!
I went back up to the counter and ordered the Bistro Burger - they were nice enough to let me sub some cheddar cheese in place of the tomato jam. While I was up there, I couldn't help but notice their case of sweet treats. Two in particular caught my eye - some kind of candy loaded cheesecake and a peanut butter pie. I asked about both and if the girl at the counter had a preference or suggestion. She insisted that both are wonderful. She also informed me that both are from Sugaree Bakery (a place that has been on my to-do list for way too long). I ended up going with the Peanut Butter pie - it had a chocolate rice krispy crust, an inch tall layer of peanut butter mousse and it's topped with a thick layer of chocolate ganache!!! How could I say no?!?
My co-workers and I took a number back to our table and waited. My boss's order of Balsamic Chips came out shortly thereafter. Thank goodness she offered to share them with all of us, because they were as good as they looked! The Bill Goat chips were partly crunchy and partly soft from the all the melted gouda. And that gouda provided the perfect creamy, mild flavor to balance the bite of the balsamic. I'm not usually a balsamic fan, but this is a dish that I would order on every visit (and I'm even thinking I should try and make my own at home....).
And a few minutes after we'd inhaled our appetizer, our sandwiches arrived. My burger was quite delicious! The egg was cooked easy and bacon was thick and flavorful. The grilled potatoes (my choice of side) were fantastic! They had plenty of super crispy bits and they were bursting with flavor!
I would definitely recommend this place and can't wait to...
ย ย ย Read moreI have come here a couple of times; once to watch some friends play music and once to study. Iโm in nursing school and my friends and I are constantly looking for a coffee shop to study at and drink coffee since thatโs what we live off of these days. My friend and I were there for a good 4 hours studying last week. We both got two coffees and ate lunch there. I spent probably $25-$30 while I was there and made sure to tip each time. The coffee shop really wasnโt that busy besides the lunch rush, but majority of people were getting food to go. Out of no where, the WiFi went out. I thought it was maybe something on my end until my friend, who I referred to go there, went today and said the same thing happened to her. She had the accusation that the restaurant shuts the WiFi off on purpose. She asked them if they could fix it and they never did. I came on here to look at other reviews to see if the same thing happens to them and sure enough the owner even said it on a review from two days ago from a guy named Bret who had the same issue. The owners response to that specific review was very unprofessional and rude. I understand it is COVID and restaurants are at limited capacity, but I spent a lot of money there for the WiFi to be shut off. If the coffee shop doesnโt want people there studying, then they just shouldnโt have WiFi advertised... All my classmates and I were so excited about this new study spot, but unfortunately will not...
