KJ's New North — Restaurant in Balsam Lake

I have been to KJs and never had such a nasty experience. I ordered a hot fudge Sunday. Pretty simple. Well not for this owner. At what point does one MICROWAVE ICE CREAM. Yep. You read that right, they microwaved the ice cream to pour on top as they must have not had the adequate ingredients. When they handed me the cup I grabbed the top of the glass and it was hot. Since I wasn’t looking for melted ice cream in a cup, I just told them they could keep it. I had already paid so I knew I would be out that money, but again I didn’t want microwaved ice cream. Seeing as most of the hard ice creams were mostly gone and they couldn’t do soft serve, all they would have had to do was say they didn’t have the ingredients. KJ's has a sandwich menu and the chalkboard in front of the door listed a sandwich special, but when I tried to order a sandwich I was informed that they weren't serving sandwiches. FYI - for what it's worth, this was on Saturday at roughly 4:30PM.

Ordered a malt, which was tasty, but then when we walked outside to eat, there was a HEAVY odor of Marijuana and it appeared that one of the owners/managers(?) was smoking weed on the deck with another individual. I only assume that it was an owner or manager because he was walking in and out of the door on the side of the building that leads into the kitchen area that appeared to be for staff only, but this person was not working the counter.

Normally this wouldn't bother me as much as it did, but we had our two young nieces with us and I'm not a fan of smoking weed in...

Ordered online last night while we got together with family at the brewery across the street. I had the Tsunami Pastrami, added jalapeños to my sandwich. It was my first time, my brother highly recommended KJ’s. I was only able to eat 1/2 of the sandwich. It was delicious! Pastrami was yummy and tender! They made my root beer float when I picked up my food. This morning my husband and I shared my 2nd half of the sandwich! Still just as yummy if not better!
