Food was great, good quality and good price. But our waitress was awful. She ignored us several times. When we wanted napkins, she totally ignored us and it wasn't until we asked a bus girl for help that we got them.

My wife ordered mashed potatoes and gravy, and got no gravy. We had to ask for that, but it took a while to get the waitress, again. We got that. Everything is going okay. The waitress keeps asking us if we are ready to pay. I mention I want to see the dessert menu after debating it for a few minutes.

I ordered a dessert platter with three different types of dessert. All of the desserts were amazing, especially the Creme Brulee. But then again rose a problem. The waitress brings us all three desserts on one tray. No individual plates, no additional napkins, or spoons. This is common restaurant knowledge, not some exception where I have to go to a big city. When I tried to ask the waitress, once again she ignored me and walked away. I had to get my own napkins, and reach over the table to get my dessert, since I was sharing it with another person. Would have been nice to have a small plate to use.

Usually small towns have better service and nicer people. And in the area of Baltic, people seemed nice. But this service has to be some of the worst, as no one has ever pushed me to pay several times or given me a lack of silverware. Even in the previous places I reviewed, getting the silverware, napkins, and plates were the least of my issues.

I at first thought this place was great, nice atmosphere and good food. But the service killed it. I did talk to the manager, but if this place is to attract people from out of town, just follow basics and give silverware and napkins.

I had to use my hand as a plate to eat my dessert and reuse the spoon I ate my mashed...

This restaurant used to be one of my families favorite places to eat at, unfortunately after having the worst experience that I have ever encountered in a restaurant setting, we will not be eating here again. My wife, 11-month old daughter and I ate here for lunch on Monday, February 21st, 2022 when having a family day together and it was an absolutely awful experience. Our waitress was a middle-aged lady, I wish that I would have got her name, that provided absolutely zero customer service and was incredibly unfriendly. The restaurant was unfortunately out of a lot of food and you could tell that every question that my wife and I asked this lady was an inconvenience to her and she made zero effort to be accommodating in any manner and made both my wife and myself feel extremely uncomfortable. On 2 separate occasions, my wife and I asked our waitress to please allow us a little more time to look at the menu, as we were not only trying to attend to our very young daughter but also trying to decide what we wanted to order for our meals. After both of these instances, the waitress returned to our table very shortly and provided us with no time, which led to both my wife and I just simply picking an item that neither of us intended on ordering. Unfortunately the rest of the experience did not improve any, as this waitress continued to provide no customer service and neither my wife nor myself felt comfortable asking her for anything due to knowing that all we were was an inconvenience to her. I absolutely hate to write this review and have never in my life left a bad review to any business, as my family is very easy going, although if this restaurant is going to continue to thrive and prosper these experiences can...

Saturday, May 20, 2023 Nothing happens randomly… Trip to Sugarcreek, a delightful little Amish town called the little Switzerland of Ohio, location of a very sweet film: Love finds you in Sugarcreek. After the obligatory visit to the largest cuckoo clock in the world, to the exquisite local craft shops and a walk through the streets where the characteristic Swiss folk music is widespread, on the advice of a kind lady met right in front of the cuckoo we head to Baltic, a few kilometers from Sugarcreek for our lunch. Destination: East Main Kitchen, 108E Main St, Baltic, OH. The place is very clean and tidy and the tables are at the right distance from each other which guarantees the right privacy. The sweet waitress Lynda brings us the menu, iced tea and the best lemonade I've ever had, made with real lemon juice! And finally, after three weeks of mediocre quality food during our long journey, a lunch worthy of the name, and we Italians know enough about cooking! We tasted the best cottage cheese on the planet, very fresh, an excellent roast beef (which is not as we mean it in Italy, thinly sliced, but is "pulled"), a soft and very well cooked grilled pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes and vegetables. Finally a dish where the meat tastes like meat, the mashed potatoes taste like excellent potatoes and there are no useless sauces, onions or chips to drown and cover the individual flavours. The closest thing to the Italian cuisine we've ever eaten in the United States. Kudos to the chef in the kitchen! Our warm thanks to Lynda and of course to Wayne, the general manager, for welcoming us with kindness and courtesy but above all for making us feel at home! Thank you so much! Must...

We asked the ladies at Berhalt Museum for their recommendation and this was it. A large, but intimate atmosphere. Wonderful service and the food was spectacular. Everything we ordered and saw was a generous portion: enough for multiple people. This is obviously a local favorite with many Amish or Mennonite diners. The kitchen staff appeared to be primarily Mennonite or Amish ladies. The buttermilk fried chicken was golden and juicy with a well proportioned amount of creamy gravy. The French fries were unusual as they were cut in a half moon shape with really good seasoning and a crispy outside. The sweet potato fries were also cut in an unusual shape and they were perfectly crispy yet tender with a sweet cinnamon dipping sauce. I had the grits with shrimp and sausage. MAN, was that good. Creamy, buttery grits cooked well and nicely seasoned grilled shrimp with thick slices of pork sausage. Enough for 3 people easily. We splurged on dessert with a piece of chocolate chocolate cake and a blueberries & lemon drizzle cake. Both were moist and delicious. My only comment is the drizzle was a bit too heavy and covered the blueberry flavor. I come to Holmes County about once per year, sharing the area with my exchange students. I visit typically in the fall when the leaves turn. Coming now in early summer was different. Seeing everything green and lush is quite a site too. I'll eat here again. #ontheroadjamielives #shelivesontheroad #shesharestheroad #thingslookdifferentouthere #shewantsthisforyoutoo #aclarifiedwoman #beentheredonethat #herbeautifulblendedfamily
