As far as shopping, it's like any other store. Mind you, they do double coupons up to $1 so they may not have stuff in stock as much as, let's say, a Giant. But you can, maybe, get a raincheck. The reason I am only giving it 2 stores is because of their customer service. They are not "mean" or "nasty" or anything like that, but the problem I have, I only have with this ShopRite which is why I don't go very often.
If they run out of stock of something, I used to ask for rainchecks. But for every item I needed a raincheck, even up to the flavor or fragrance, they would leave customer service and walk around the store to each product in every location they exist, to confirm that either it is in stock somewhere or their particular store does not carry it even if it is in their paper. So if they don't stock it (or they don't stock the particular flavor/ fragrance you want), again, even though it is in their circular, they will not provide a raincheck. If they find something in stock SOMEWHERE RANDOM, no raincheck, and for that, I partially understand why they can't give a raincheck. The problem there is, there customer service desk is after the checkout counters. So either you have to leave your cart full of your groceries somewhere "safe" or you have confirm all of your items are (un)available, go to customer service to get or not get your rainchecks, and then go back to do your shopping. So just dealing with rainchecks added 10+ minutes to my shopping trip.
But if that wasn't bad enough, I tried to return something yesterday that I purchased the day before at a different ShopRite. The gentleman who was really nice, literally pulled out a calculator to do math. I spent over $60 total. The item I was returning cost $15. With there coupon policy, you have to spend a minimum of $25 total for the coupons to start and continue doubling. $60 - $15 = $45. So he deducted the item I wanted to return and ALL of my coupons, even the ones that don't double and the store coupons and tried to say I would have only spent $20, and not $25, if it were not for that item. What? He said just bring it back tomorrow (new sale day) and there would be no questions asked a just try not to do returns in the same transaction. Huh? I ended up spending at least 20 extra minutes there just dealing with that. And yes, I still have to go back to a ShopRite (not this one) to make this return.
Too much drama there so I only stop there when I need to. I try to stick to the one by my house or drive a little out of the way on my way home and go to...
Read moreThey most always have what I need. Tim, a new hire in the meat section is very knowledgeable and gave me an excellent presentation on meat cuts with enthusiasm. The store is always clean, well-organized and stocked. The security guards are very friendly. They greet you as you enter which is refreshing given how most ppl are today. The prices are reasonable with the exception of the frozen shrimp.
Bad experience: My mother took my 2 year old daughter with her to grocery shop. My daughter fell in the produce section hitting her small baby teeth on the floor. Blood and blood-curtling screams. My mother carried my screaming daughter to the nearest employees behind the deli/precooked food counter. My mother asked for a tissue, napkin or paper towel to dry my baby's face and check her teeth. The women there simply pointed at a WRAPPED utensil holder. The cafeteria type which have a small thin square of napkin with a fork and spoon. Not quite what she needed. Not to mention my daughter was still screaming and my mother was holding her. She had little ability to open a plastic-wrapped utensil pack. The employees stood there and watched my mother as she fumbled to open the pack while holding the baby. Ultimately, she had to put her down to access the negligable slither of napkin. The deli employees were most unhelpful, unbothered and...
Read moreThe shopping was excellent 👍👍👌👌 but I had an issue where my phone died while I was in the store shopping. I needed to arrange for a Lyft driver to pick myself and children and elderly grandmother up. I went to the "Customer Service" to ask for assistance. While waiting I could clearly see that there was a charger on the counter not in use. So when it was my turn in line I explained the issue and asked if I could use the charger for no more then 2 or 3 minutes just so we could get home safely. The Attendee at the desk refused and stated that I would have to purchase a charger and plug it up outside. I was flabbergasted but there was nothing I could do. I found the charger the Cord cost $4.99 and the Plug Box cost $17.99. I am a Mother of 5 who has to budget every dollar. I spent $25.00 extra for 2-3mins of time. Disappointed... I don't know if it was because of my being A woman or because I am a Muslim Woman but the man at the desk made the option of customer service seem non-existent. I felt like I was swindled into spending unnecessary money because he simply was unwilling to do his job which was to give great customer...
