Sorry to say but my first and only experience tonight was not a good one. First off, there were at least two tables that came in after us. They got their food first. Not quite sure why, but it was definitely noticed. However, this was not a dealbreaker. I had ordered a side salad along with my meal and did not receive that salad until after our meal arrived. I ordered onion on it and had to ask for that again. I ordered the 6 ounce steak and what I got was a flattened chewy tasteless piece of meat. I’m not trying to be mean about it, but I literally could not eat it, period. My wife however, did enjoy her chicken sandwich. The other three people in our party said their food was acceptable and that was about it. I asked if I could trade my steak for a Salisbury steak. It came out greasy and wasn’t very good. when our bill arrived, I was charged for steak (no problem) but I am used to someone making amends when food doesn’t come out quite right. Not tonight. I’m not used to seeing a note in fine print on the menu stating the prices were for cash payment only. Oh well. On a more positive note, the restaurant was full and people were waiting to get in. It seemed like many people were enjoying their meals, especially the tire sized pork tenderloin sandwiches. Since this restaurant is new, I will try them again soon and maybe my next experience will erase the memory of...
Read moreWe waited a few minutes in line to be seated, and then a gentleman offered to seat us on the patio. To start our meal, we ordered the Peppered Cheese Cubes. They were perfectly spicy with the right amount of breading. My son loved the 50s Philly Steak, was very happy he ordered it with the extra meat. He said it was the best diner cheesesteak he's ever had. My wife ordered the Betty Boop Bacon Burger. Unfortunately, when it arrived at the table, the top bun was missing. Although my wife had to wait about 10 minutes for the replacement top bun to arrive at the table, she was happy that she waited patiently. The burger meat was still very warm, and she loved it. I ordered the Hubcap Tenderloin with all the toppings, and I am very happy I did. In all my years of ordering tenderloins, I have never seen a bun that is the same size as the tenderloin. It made it so much easier to enjoy because there was the proper amount of toppings. A crispy, tender, and juicy tenderloin made the Hubcap Tenderloin a perfect sandwich. The fries were perfectly crispy and flavorful. Our waitress was very friendly...
Read moreSo happy this place reopened! Fun and creative atmosphere, and decent “diner food.” They still have a difficult time with getting orders served in a timely manner and there is usually a long wait to get in the restaurant. There is not much space to wait either so they lose a lot of customers. The servers are really nice. The prices are a little on the high side, but that seems to be a typical these days with all restaurants. There is also a 3.5% up-charge if you are paying with debit/credit card so it’s better to pay with cash if possible. The menu is a little confusing in regards to up-charges with meals too. For example, a burger comes with chips, but I don’t think it is marked very clear that fries are an up-charge. I don’t remember there being a “combo deal” with burger, fries, and a drink, etc. I could be wrong about that though. Even though there are some bumps in the road with The Knuckle Sandwich it’s still a great place to go out to eat! We will definitely be back! Get a chocolate shake while you are there...
