Just went for lunch. Only have bought fresh seafood at this place and have never had any complaints. You get what you pay for in quality at this place. Today tacos were advertised and they looked good, came with chips and salsa. Asked how many tacos came in an order and was told 2. Ordered the lobster taco (without looking at the price menu, my mistake) and two la croix seltzers and my bill was $25. Ok, a little on the higher side but it’s lobster and two people are getting lunch for $25. To my dismay after 15 minutes when the food came out we only received one taco. This taco maybe had 3 small pieces of lobster on it and the majority was covered with cheese and lettuce to probably cover the lack of lobster. I asked the counter workers about the second taco and they replied that lunch tacos are on a larger tortilla and come with one and dinner tacos are on a smaller tortilla and come with two. They were very helpful and apologetic and offered me another taco which I accepted. After about two minutes I guess the lobster supply is lacking at off the hook because they came to me and instead offered a free dessert. So we took that but still left disgruntled and will NOT be returning. $25 for one taco and two non alcoholic drinks is ridiculous to begin with but then the quality of this taco was abhorrent for the price. Off the hook needs to re evaluate their prices and also make up for it better when there is a mistake like that. Although the service was good and I don’t place blame on the counter workers, I wouldn’t have paid if I knew I was getting a lousy...
Read moreLet me tell you the tale of 91.00 French fries. We stopped for lunch on Sunday before leaving the island for the week. We had plans to get TGH fish at Cassidy's... and thought we would try lunch here. I cannot describe what a poor experience it was. The employees were the only high point of the whole experience. They are friendly college age kids trying, against all odds, to make a good experience for their customers. They were out of all poke bowls so I opted for a mixed fried seafood sampler. Long John Silvers does a better job. The only good part was the French fries and the lone sea scallop. Ordered the CT style lobster roll, which had less than half the lobster of the same roll at Boulevard Clams... for the same price.... and it was over cooked and dry enough to patch a tire.. the goal is to warm the meat not dry it into rubber. The high point of the meal was the French fries. 91.00 French fries. Also. The fish fingers were the driest food I have ever experienced. I didn't know you could ruin a fish stick this badly. Also. The half and half beverages are wildly unflavorfull.... and they don't take amex... probably because every customer would dispute their charges. Seriously, so many great restaurants... these guys need a new...
