Joy Boys All Star Bagel — Restaurant in Barnegat Township

I had high hopes for Joy Boys All-Star Bagel in Barnegat, especially since I’ve enjoyed their locations in the Toms River area. It was exciting to have one open somewhat close to home, even though I have two other bagel shops that are even closer. Unfortunately, my experience today was disappointing.

I placed two separate orders, and both had issues. First, I ordered a pork roll, egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich for $10. For that price, I expected a decent portion of meat, but it was underwhelming—not even “picture-worthy,” according to my daughter.

The second order was placed through DoorDash, but I realized they didn’t offer delivery, so I went to pick it up. I placed the order at 10:50 AM and didn’t receive it until 11:20 AM—30 minutes for two bagel sandwiches. That’s simply too long for something so basic. From what I saw, it seemed like they were making one order at a time, which is not efficient. If that’s how they operate, they may struggle to keep up with demand.

To top it off, my $13 pork roll, egg, cheese, and bacon sandwich was unimpressive. For that price, I expected much better.

I hope they improve before it’s too late, but for now, I’ll be sticking with other bagel spots where I feel my money is...

Honest to God the most inedible pork roll and cheese I have EVER had. FIRST OF ALL, I ordered from what I assumed was the all star bagel 5 minutes from my house, because obviously why wouldn’t it be? Come to find out it’s 20 minutes away.. whatever, I won’t make a problem .. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. There’s an almost $2 (extended distance) fee mind you.. it arrives and the pork roll is so hard and overcooked you truly cannot take a bite. so I paid $20 for essentially my iced tea to be delivered. Door dash offered me $5 back. Absurd. Don’t eat here. And double check which all star bagel you’re ordering from. Although im sure they’re all not great.. Manhattan bagel, literally anywhere...

Absolutely ridiculous, so I go on there website and I see a fabulous bacon egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel. I wish I can post a picture of what I received, To say the least they fell completely flat like there sandwiches. I also order a steak egg and cheese on a bagel and what a disappointment, overcooked and it was 1fried egg when on there website it says all the speciality sandwiches get two eggs.. I mean for the price I guess I understand why they fell flat!! Very dissatisfied!! Won't go there again.. Dolce bagels down the street at least don't lie about what your going to get and the prices are the same.. I gave them a 2 beacuse at least they...
