D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches — Restaurant in Barnstable

Short story; Customer service is always bad but the food was good. However after a third terrible sandwich in a row. Don't go here.

Long story; "The final strike" I ordered in advance based on the bus schedule. I was going to arrive early so tried calling to let them know but nobody answered. I got to the counter about 20 minutes early to wait an additional 4 minutes until I was finally acknowledged. I told them I was there early hoping they could start it now. I was simply told "yours isn't ready" and they turned around. As I continued to wait I heard their phone ring and watched as they both spoke on their personal phones (earbuds to be professional) as it went to voicemail. I confirmed this by calling them myself and watching. Additionally I watched the "chief" do two transactions. Both of which cash was exchanged with the same gloves on and then went back to touching food. I suggested he should switch gloves but based on his reaction I was quite incorrect. I then received my sandwich hand made with those gloves shortly thereafter. If I wasn't so hungry and not willing to deal with it all I would have cancelled the order all together. Hesitantly I attempt to eat the sub. The bread tasted like it came from a gulag in the 40's. The stems of the peppers were the most prevalent topping and the meat (though hardly cooked) was full of hard black burnt bits. A true flavor experience! I took enough bites to cure my 10 hour hunger and threw 80% in the garbage.

Wow, just wow. 20+mins for a Thanksgiving Toasted. An by toasted they throw a stack of lunch meat on the griddle, then griddle the sub roll. Who doe that an calls it toasted? That's warmed an nasty. An why do they do the sandwiches backwards? I ordered mine but the people who came 5mins after me got their steak an cheeses? Like seriously how the F is that possible. Never ever ever get food there. Better off at Burger King or Dunks over this place. 2 people on the grill that's 5' long. 1 person making everything else. An when you charge people for extra cheese etc... Put it on it please. Is it that hard? It's on the slip cuz you made me pay for it right? So it on the slip literally 2' from their faces. Needs a new manager cuz who ever trained them messed...

All the ladies on that crew went above to exceed with making my order. They informed me as they did with other customers that the grill isn’t working today so any grilled options won’t be available. I asked for a Chicken teriyaki rice bowl.

Even with the limitations of the grill being out of commission, they told me how they can still accommodate my order and how they’d make it if it was ok with me. Once my order was ready; they were very apologetic about the grill not working and they hope what they made is good and said they hope I come back again.

Needless to say; I most definitely will be coming again; not just for the food but also for their genuine good customer service. My meal was absolutely delicious not only to my tastebuds but visually...
