Plata's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Barstow

Plata's is hands down the best authentic Mexican food in the area. I live an hour away and make the drive just to come to the Ft. Irwin Rd restaurant. They have an extensive menu with additional menu items printed on paper. I usually order the shredded beef taco's that never disappoint. The meat is tender and flavored perfectly. We have also had the enchiladas. The red sauce in them is divine...full.of flavor that compliments the cheese.....and I usually do not care for red sauce. Flautas and taquitos always crispy and tasty. The breakfast burritos are big enough to share. In fact, we always order different items to share. Oh, and they make their own tortillas on site. The chips are complimentary. I love the crispiness and thickness and there is always several salsa options...I will always return to Platas when I crave...

The Best Mexican Food! I have eaten at Plata's for 45 years. I remember your parents store in Lenwood and had the three bean and cheese burrito special... my dad would take my brother, sister and I In this huge water truck to water trees on some land he just bought.. he would always stop by and get us our 3 bean and cheese burritos. Just think this was a hang out in high school and 3 bean and cheese (hot). Their food is consistant from the hot sauce to thier all meat pork burrito and the best place for all year...

My family has been going here for 30 years and I can honestly say this is the best Mexican food I've ever had. Everything from their chips and salsa to their zucchini burritos are absolutely delicious. They put so much care and effort into every meal that it's consistently perfect. Their employees are really friendly and seem happy to see every customer. And their prices are very fair.

Going here is almost a family tradition at this point. Seriously, I can't...
