I mean unless you are a super health food professional this place is always a must try if in the area and looking to try an old staple of the community. Murphy's had been around forever and most everyone in Bartlesville knows Murphy's Steakhouse. A little known fact about me is I have never had their steaks. I I've heard some say they are great and some say they are not so great. I love their Cheeseburger with fries with gravy over all. Brown or white gravy. Doesn't matter. Your preference. Most do brown. I like white gravy better but I think I'm weird. The side salads are good but their Ranch dressing is better. Alot of people like their Ranch or their House dressings. They usually have good pies too but we are always too full for those so we haven't tried them alot. What we have tried were good. Expect a line at normal busy times. People used to wait in line for an hour to get a table but I think there are enough restaurants in B'Ville now that it is not as bad. Countless times we've gone at off peak times and walked right in and sat down. The service is usually pretty good at anytime. It is an old restaurant so don't think steakhouse and think Texas Roadhouse. This is not that. It is an actual old steakhouse. I definitely recommend it if you haven't...
Read moreMurphy's is great. It has been feeding folks in this city for generations and everyone in town has Murphy's on their list of restaurant options when dining out. It's a place where you enter and see friends and neighbors with gravy dripping off of their beards. But I must be honest. Today, my burger was a hockey puck; so beyond well-done, I had 2 bites and just ate the fries. My fries were soggy, half of them should have remained in the fryer for another minute and a half. I didn't say anything because: 1- I'm not THAT guy. And maybe it was just an "off day" in the kitchen. 2- My server was not concerned with anything but complaining to the other servers about life. The past few times I've eaten at Murphy's, the service has been abysmal. They are nonchalantly meandering around, occasionally filling up drinks, rarely smiling, and I see no one there that I would call a "Server." At Murphy's, they are definitely "waitresses." It's too bad, really. I'd love to work there and have the opportunity to really serve those in my community with a genuine smile, care, and with a passion for making people feel seen, appreciated, and loved. The atmosphere would be great if the employees would work with some pride and with some passion...
Read moreI’ve been going to Murphy’s since the 60’s. Annette was my good friend. I knew Mel, Lorene and Paul as well. Today, my husband and I ordered takeout. I ordered a Jr Hot Hamburger with extra onions and GOA. I also ordered a Regular Hot Hamburger with GOA, no onions. I went to the window and the young lady said our order was not quite ready but she took my credit card to pay for it. In the meantime, some other young lady brought out an order and said it was ours. I looked on the yellow tag and what was written was correct. We got home and discovered the order was incorrect. Both Hot Hamburgers were the same size. One had a red marker on it. Both of them had onions on it and the one with the red marker had peppers on it. Not at all what we ordered. I didn’t want onions so I had to scrape them off. My husband wanted onions but didn’t ask for peppers. He had to scrape those off. To me, this is unacceptable but the new people running Murphys don’t seem to care. I called and asked for a manager to call me. No one has taken any time to call us about this incorrect order. BTW, this is not the first time this has happened to us in the last 2 years. It’s so very sad to know that this restaurant is not what Melvin and Lorene Murphy...
