I mean unless you are a super health food professional this place is always a must try if in the area and looking to try an old staple of the community. Murphy's had been around forever and most everyone in Bartlesville knows Murphy's Steakhouse. A little known fact about me is I have never had their steaks. I I've heard some say they are great and some say they are not so great. I love their Cheeseburger with fries with gravy over all. Brown or white gravy. Doesn't matter. Your preference. Most do brown. I like white gravy better but I think I'm weird. The side salads are good but their Ranch dressing is better. Alot of people like their Ranch or their House dressings. They usually have good pies too but we are always too full for those so we haven't tried them alot. What we have tried were good. Expect a line at normal busy times. People used to wait in line for an hour to get a table but I think there are enough restaurants in B'Ville now that it is not as bad. Countless times we've gone at off peak times and walked right in and sat down. The service is usually pretty good at anytime. It is an old restaurant so don't think steakhouse and think Texas Roadhouse. This is not that. It is an actual old steakhouse. I definitely recommend it if you haven't...

Murphy's is great. It has been feeding folks in this city for generations and everyone in town has Murphy's on their list of restaurant options when dining out. It's a place where you enter and see friends and neighbors with gravy dripping off of their beards. But I must be honest. Today, my burger was a hockey puck; so beyond well-done, I had 2 bites and just ate the fries. My fries were soggy, half of them should have remained in the fryer for another minute and a half. I didn't say anything because: 1- I'm not THAT guy. And maybe it was just an "off day" in the kitchen. 2- My server was not concerned with anything but complaining to the other servers about life. The past few times I've eaten at Murphy's, the service has been abysmal. They are nonchalantly meandering around, occasionally filling up drinks, rarely smiling, and I see no one there that I would call a "Server." At Murphy's, they are definitely "waitresses." It's too bad, really. I'd love to work there and have the opportunity to really serve those in my community with a genuine smile, care, and with a passion for making people feel seen, appreciated, and loved. The atmosphere would be great if the employees would work with some pride and with some passion...

I’ve been going to Murphy’s since the 60’s. Annette was my good friend. I knew Mel, Lorene and Paul as well. Today, my husband and I ordered takeout. I ordered a Jr Hot Hamburger with extra onions and GOA. I also ordered a Regular Hot Hamburger with GOA, no onions. I went to the window and the young lady said our order was not quite ready but she took my credit card to pay for it. In the meantime, some other young lady brought out an order and said it was ours. I looked on the yellow tag and what was written was correct. We got home and discovered the order was incorrect. Both Hot Hamburgers were the same size. One had a red marker on it. Both of them had onions on it and the one with the red marker had peppers on it. Not at all what we ordered. I didn’t want onions so I had to scrape them off. My husband wanted onions but didn’t ask for peppers. He had to scrape those off. To me, this is unacceptable but the new people running Murphys don’t seem to care. I called and asked for a manager to call me. No one has taken any time to call us about this incorrect order. BTW, this is not the first time this has happened to us in the last 2 years. It’s so very sad to know that this restaurant is not what Melvin and Lorene Murphy...

Birthday lunch with my life long bestie! Hadn't been here in years! Murphy's started in 1946, and is famous for it's 'Hot Hamburger Gravy Over All'! Starts with a layer of white bread toast, then topped with a large, thick choice ground beef pattie, then covered with a huge portion of french fries. And I don't mean the frozen variety! I mean scrumptious, long hand cut fresh potatoes, the cherry on top is the thick, rich, beefy, brown gravy poured over all! (You can also add cheese & sauteed onions if desired!) The other thing Murphy's is famous for is their House salad dressing! Creamy and Garlic-ie! I remember eating club crackers with house dressing as a kid while we waited for our food! So yummy! Our waitress was helpful and attentive, and my bestie got a free piece of the pie of her choice for her Birthday🎂! She chose chocolate pie....my favorite is the coconut-cream pie! You always leave with a to go box for your large portion left overs and a fresh soda pop for the road. Stop on by this historic 1940s-era eatery just east of the Osage Indian reservation! Your tummy will thank you❣️

My Husband order a TBone Steak it was cooked to perfection & his ( huge baked potato) was outstanding..moist..fluffy..the skin the right crunchy texture when you broke it apart and the Real...creamy butter made all the difference..We are now regular customers here..I just wish the waitress would wear name tags we have no clue none of their names at all. Once you come to Murphys you feel like Family..like your sitting at your grandma's table on a Sunday after church. Folks really visiting laughing enjoying each other company as how it should be it's like back in the day. We have only been here from Kansas less than a year but this Murphys Crew is 5 stars in our eyes & hearts they are always our go too. And since I'm a gastric bypass patient & have lots over 309pds of weight i can only eat very small amounts they allow me to order off the kids menus alot of restaurants won't they think I'm trying to pull a fast one until they see i can't eat alot..well guys keep doing what your doing you guys are the Bomb Diggity Bomb. We visited for the first time on a Saturday night, and we'll definitely be back. We had to wait a few minutes for a seat, but the staff was great about getting vacated spots cleared quickly. We ate at the counter right in front of the window, so had a front row seat to the fast-paced kitchen and service. I had the open faced hot beef sandwich with onions, and it was delicious. Couldn't eat it all, but enjoyed the plate full of gravy regardless. My companion had the bacon cheeseburger, and said he wishes they served breakfast just so he could enjoy more of that bacon! The restaurant isn't spacious, and was loud, but honestly it added to the charm. My only negative comment would be that I wish there were more bathrooms (one each for men and women), as there were several waiting to use the ladies room. Also, the bathroom hall is very narrow; another patron was using a walker, and getting into the restroom was a challenge.
