Rocket Bar &Grill (Dizzy Deans) — Restaurant in Bartonville

My buddy Darryl and I visited here for the first time today for lunch. We were the only ones in the restaurant when we went in and when we left. The business sets back off the main drag through town and isn't easy to even know it's there unless you live in the area. It's kind of like at the end of a strip mall, but it's a long large building. The inside had a huge bar and the usual bar & grill stuff like pool table, darts, bags, etc. One large floor that gives people plenty of elbow room for a large crowd. I was really mystified as to why we were the only people there and had a thought of just turning around and leaving, but the young lady that greeted us had a very personable personality and made us feel welcome. Her name was Breanna and very likable. We were seated and our drink order was taken and our menu was handed to us. I was surprised at how much they had to offer. We decided on the jalapeno poppers as an appetizer. They were outstanding by the way. We both loved them. Darryl had the jalapeno burger with fries and I had the 1/2 tenderloin sandwich and fries. Darryl raved about his burger and fries, not to mention the poppers. I found my sandwich to be just the right size and most of all the meat was thick and delectable. They sure don't skimp on the meat and quality one bit. We both loved the fresh french fries that are reminiscent of Big Johns fries from the old days of Johns BBQ. They were terrific. Best tenderloin I've had in a long time and their prices are reasonable as far as I'm concerned. The fries come extra, but only cost a buck. Can't beat that at all. They also sell Pepsi products and that is a huge plus for Darryl and his thirst for Mountain Dew. We will finally be back for some more grub soon God willing. Ordered carryout for two burgers with fries. $21.81 was my total. Got home and took a bite which revealed a ridiculously pink inside, all the way thru the patty, there was no eating around it. So I called and asked for them to replace the meal, which they did without hesitation. The bartender I dealt with was very nice and friendly and apologetic about the situation; which isn't her fault. But I get home with the replaced burgers and they werent pink this time, but they were so burnt on the outsides they had a huge charred layer which ruined the taste of the whole burger.. it seems like they've got the heat up too high or something.. like when you're cooking something on the stovetop and its burnt on the outside but not cooked on the inside. I stopped for an early dinner after work. I was impressed with how it looks there. Very nice decor with plenty of TVs for your viewing pleasure if you so desire. Excellent menu with good variety and types of food. It was not crowded at all, too early for a dinner crowd. The server seemed very nice and fast but she was let down by the kitchen staff. I had a sandwich and fries and a drink. Prices are ok. Quantity was ok. Quality of the food lacked a little. The fries were very salty and a bit overcooked. The sandwich was dry and sorely in need of some sauce to give it moisture and make it more flavorful. The idea of the sandwich is good but needed something else in it to make it a really good sandwich. I will stop again to try other foods but my first visit is only rated ok due...
