Presleys Outdoors — Local services in Bartonville

FYI: I am related (Nephew) to Mic in the archery section. Although, I know nobody else there and this review will not be applying to him considering I do not do archery.

That being said, I went in on Saturday, May 24th, 2025 to check out some sidearms because I have recently started searching for houses (first time homebuyer). At the firearm desk, the gentleman behind the counter was all that I could possibly ask for. Knew what he was talking about, disassembled and reassembled a few handguns right in front of me to explain the inner workings of them, showed me every option I asked to see before explaining the pros and cons of each one so I could get an unbiased feel for each one, and was very understanding and considerate as far as budget and firearm reliability goes. He even allowed me to hold his own personal firearm to see how a broken in gun feels compared to one that is brand new (which ended up being the one I purchased). And as an added bonus, his dog not only is gigantic in size but has the heart to match it. I could only hope to have a dog like his in the future.

In conclusion, I hear that the archery section knows what they’re doing (biased) and the firearm section definitely knows what they’re doing as well (first hand experience). I have 100% faith in the knowledge and insight that the firearm section guys provide and HIGHLY recommend using them for any firearm questions...

This company is the worst. You order something on there website. Just to find out this company has taken your money out of your account and not shipped your order. When I call to get a update on my order they can not help me or tell me anything just that it is not been shipped ,and are to busy to help. The company states they will call me back then they don’t! I called 5 times and received zero help. They are too busy! But not busy enough to take my money out of my account. Actually they were so busy I requested a refund of my money! Instead of following up and doing there job, they make so much money they do not need my money. So instead of helping a customer who spent a few hundred dollars, they would rather give it back, Instead of figuring out what they can do to ensure your a happy and a returning customer. Well my family will not be purchasing anything else from Presley’s Outdoors!! This is absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received! This company is very shady with there business! I personally do not recommend this company and warn buyers to do there research and buy elsewhere! By they way my husband order his the exact same day from another company and already received his 2 days later With no issues at all. The website stated just like there’s does two day air mail and it was done properly unlike this company. So again I can’t stress enough go...

I will never again conduct business at Presleys. My wife entered Presleys Outdoors with the intention of purchasing a new firearm for herself. Despite having her FOID available and being willing to display it to ensure her eligibility for the purchase, the manager, Pat, baselessly accused her of a straw purchase. Interestingly, within the same setting, a man and his young son, approximately 7 years old, were present. The child was handling a handgun, and the father openly declared his intention to buy the pistol for his son's upcoming 8th birthday. Strangely, Pat remained silent and proceeded to assist the man and his son without any issue. My family has been loyal customers of Presleys since their Adams Street location. Many of our family members have even made the effort to return from out of state to support this family-owned enterprise. Regrettably, due to this incident, they have lost at least 10 customers. I attempted to address the matter with Pat's superior, only to be informed that the sole authority above him is the owner. Despite leaving numerous messages and making numerous calls in an attempt to communicate with the owner, I have not received any response. While the former owner ran a commendable operation, those days seem to be a thing...
