This bagel shop outside of Aspen was something out of this world! I’m still thinking about this pesto, sundried tomato and garlic one 😍🥯 #coloradoeats #basaltcolorado #bagelshop #onmountaintime #kicolorado

If you want an all around exceptional experience when it comes to both the quality of food and service, you should come to this bagel shop. I ordered the Don't Quit Cold Turkey, 2 varieties of bagels and some sort of magical cinnamon bun with strawberries on top. I shared most of the food I ordered with a friend and took one bagel for a hike I was about to head out on. That bagel took a journey with my over two passes of Four Pass Loop and I decided to make a bagel sandwich when I got to a campsite at sunset. After setting up camp, I ate my bagel sandwich and turned on my headlamp... I 💩you not, when I turned on my headlamp, I was surrounded by 6 sets of eyes, glowing, staring back at me. I grabbed my pocket knife and went in my tent. Super smart. Super safe. Shortly thereafter, I heard a large animal next to my tent (sounded like a bear). I clapped and this very large, clumbsy sounding creature, ran away. Moral of the story is, don't eat these bagels in nature. They will literally attract the entire forest. Disclaimer: This picture was taken 8-ish hours and somewhere around the halfway point of Four Pass Loop after I acquired this bagel + with random crappy sandwich meat and cheese added to the original fantastic product.

This place is really good. I wish they were still in the Willits town center instead of the design district so I could walk there, but rent in the town center is bananas I’m sure. It doesn’t seem to matter, because this place is still packed on a weekend morning. Me and many others swung by to check it out, lots of first timers in there, but everyone seemed pleased with their bagels. The Asiago was seriously tasty. I just did a veggie cream cheese this time to try it out, which also rocked, but next time I really want to order a breakfast sandwich. I will be coming back here. They also sell cream cheeses, and I ordered a chai. Not a ton of places to sit when it’s busy but there are a few chairs outside and a little section inside to enjoy your food if you don’t want to take it to go. Also, I felt like my food was super well priced and affordable for what it was.

While vacationing in the Roaring Fork Valley, I was in a rush one morning and asked a few locals near Willits where to grab a quick bite. They hesitated and mentioned that while there was a place nearby, it always gave them a weird vibe. I probably should’ve listened.

I decided to check it out anyway...how bad could a bagel be, right? Turns out, the bagel wasn’t the problem. I walked in and was immediately greeted (if you can call it that) by a man who oozed sarcasm and attitude. He was rude to me, and even worse to another customer right in front of me. It was so off-putting, it honestly tainted the entire experience.

The food took a long time and it was just.. fine. But when your bagel comes with a side of unnecessary sass, it’s hard to enjoy it. Whether this guy owns the place or just works there, the energy is not it. If you're after a good vibe and decent service, keep walking. Heck, grab something from the gas station....you’ll get more warmth and probably a better...

When we walked in the man working was very friendly and telling jokes. We sat in the seating area to wait for our food and my kids colored with the markers and paper on the table. There were cute kids drawings covering the walls. The worker came out extremely frazzled that the coloring supplies were for his daughters only. We apologized and started to put it back when he stated that he doesn’t like anyone touching his daughters stuff and was upset that we contaminated it. He quickly shoved our food in a bag and we felt the need to rush out. When we got back to our hotel, my sons plain with strawberry cream cheese bagel was a bacon/cheese bagel with strawberry and my chocolate croissant was missing. We felt too uncomfortable to return to fix it. However, the food that was correct was good. Please don’t leave markers in your seating area if you’re going to be upset when kids use them, we had to spend the morning explaining to our 4 year old that she was not in trouble and did...
