China Star — Restaurant in Bastrop

This place is absolutely disgusting. I walked in and got seated but I was waiting 15 minutes for a drink after they had asked me what I wanted, it wasn’t even busy either which I wonder why now.. When I had looked over to see if anyone would help me, I saw a couple of the employees in the back VAPING ! That there is beyond unsanitary! I was starving and I was already there so I had gotten some food after finally get helped, it was nasty. Some of it was cold, a lot of items were severely unseasoned. I had to stop eating my noodles because it looked like there was a head of a cockroach!! Speaking of roaches, there was a few just walking around the floor! Who’s to say those didn’t touch the food. The silverware and plates are also really gross. I’m typing this the night after and I’m fairly certain I got food poisoning from this place. Never again. Do not recommend...

I ordered Tso Chicken (Which I always order) and got Orange Chicken. I called them and they said bring it back and they will have me some Tso chicken ready. I get there and they wanted to argue and try to convince me that their Tso chicken isn’t spicy because people don’t like it that way. I told them it says on the menu Spicy AND I’ve ordered it before and it was! They took the chicken I brought back and made me wait 10 minutes then handed me back the same food (which was of course cold). These people lost a Regular customer. I got a to go plate for a quick snack on the drive back to Oak Grove and paid right at $18 for 2 fried shrimp, 1eggroll & 3 fried wonton with a couple pieces of broccoli thrown in & a can of Dr Pepper. I assumed it would be weighed like every Chinese restaurant does for take-out orders but this one does not even ask or look at what you have just charges full price. The fried shrimp was mushy and couldnt eat either of them and everything was cold and undercooked. Expensive lesson learned on where not to eat again!
