Love the food here, but …

I’ve been stopping in for the last few years when I first moved to the area. Hunt Brothers Pizza combined with the Ice Cream flavors are great HOWEVER …

It seems like so many of the staff have had a lot of problems with the management and are quitting because of poor managerial decisions as well as occasional reports of mistreating the staff - apparently the owner is foreign and believes it’s ok to mistreat employees for personal gain or profit, especially women.

I have always been treated very well by the local employees and the food has always been awesome.

But I have had several personal experiences with some of the owners staff who also seem to be of the same associative persuasion and I have always felt like I mattered a little “less” than a normal customer-sales experience. I have personally worked in customer service for many years and I have never treated anyone like that - but I can’t come here and not feel like I don’t want to move along. Sad really. I literally skip out on good food because of REPEATED poor customer service.

The picture attached shows the hours … I came in around 5:40 pm on a Thursday and was told that the pizza and ice cream area was closed because they were “short staffed”.

In the past, I have seen many of the local folks who have worked there try to run both sides to keep the customers coming and serve to make them happy. This type of business model needs to come back and the bogus behind the scenes operation needs to be more professional, or go find...

I like to leave pretty accurate reviews do here we go. We arrived about 5pm it was a short wait. My husband and I got the same exact thing (reeces peanut butter shake with peanut butter sauce and pieces with white cream the only thing I added to mine differently was a banana 🍌. My husband recieved his first and then I recieved mine. I got my milkshake and took a dip and the temperature was off. I figured it was maybe the white cream that was warm? I took a few steps and decided the milkshake in fact was water and warm. There was no coldness to the drink. We paid 17 dollars and some cha ge and I was definitely disappointed. I explained to her that mine was warm she grabbed it and said I can out it in the freezer for a few. She put it in there maybe 2 minutes tops and said it should be a little colder. In fact I should have gotten a whole new drink as milk that is room temp can make you sick. We will not be back to this...

I went in to the Bates City, MO location around 7 pm this evening. The young lady serving the ice cream was not wearing a mask and was breathing directly into the cooler and then on to our ice cream. It was disgusting. I know it’s no longer Jackson County, but it’s close enough that you’d think they’d be taking precautions - and at the very least, protecting their customers and employees from exposure. I didn’t want to embarrass her in front of the seated customers, so I cut my order short, paid, walked out and threw it away. We went a few exits down to a nearby ice cream place that is clean and workers are wearing PPE, as recommended by the CDC. Next time I want Baskin Robbins, I will head West. That was my last time at the Bates...
